I'm beginning to enjoy the bizarreness of her career... so far Ymre has really gone outside the usual trajectory for a top model. It's nice to see some succeed on her own terms (however baffling they may seem from the outside) rather than playing the industry's game the same way we've seen a thousand times over with other girls.

I entirely agree with you. Also, it's not 2007 anymore where casting directors dropped models because they were shooting for catalogues or VS.

Besides catalogue stuff pay way better then eds in vogue or a hf campaign. She got her own app. in NY, gotta pay the bills also! So why not. Look likes she can get away with anything.

I saw her yesterday on television at the next hair guru. She was the model of one of the contestants (the eventually winner). Svea Kloosterhof was the model of the other contestant. At first I thought, omg she is again in a commercial programm. But then i found out that the winner got to do the hair of the covershoot and that model was Ymre Stiekema.

So Ymre will be on the cover of the Dutch Glamour january 2012.
