Your Playlist of the Moment!

My short playlist of the day

Interpol-Specialist
-I know I listen to them way too much, but this song played over and over again as it helped me find some "inspiration" for a piece I had to write for English class...
Au Revoir Simone-Backyards of our Neighbours
-I'm feeling sick today and this song soothed it a bit, melancholic reminiscing
Wilco album (A Ghost Is Born)
-hell is chrome, hummingbird, muzzle of bees, company in my back, handshake drugs
-as I mentioned earlier, I currently have the flu. I took a nap this afternoon and woke up to having both my ears plugged, along with a headache to anything with abormal beats and sounds. The album was the only thing my ears could tolerate between 3 and 6pm
Joy Division-Ceremony
-went along well with my mood for the currrent evening
She Wants Revenge-These Things, Sister
-I'm a downer, I listen to monochramatic music, nothing else to say!
The Kooks-Eddie's Gun
-by this time, I added this one to my playlist because I'm in a better mood. My flu medicine kicked in! Yeah!

-_-

Right Now:

Miss You Love - Silverchair
Such an amazing band, they are the kind who mature well with age and are great on so many different levels. Anyway I miss hearing about silverchair so this song is good.

November Rain - Guns N Roses
One of my favourite songs of all time. I remember watching the video clip when I was little and thinking how beautiful Stephanie Seymore was (even though I didn't know who she was then) and wondering why the rain killed her (I was young ok!). This is mine and my boys song, and I have told him I am going down the wedding aisle to it hehe - better be a long aisle.

Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
When you listen to this song it is actually quite romantic. Apparently June Cash wrote it about her and Johnny Cash.
I'm not normally someone who is heavily into country, Johnny Cash - my father introduced me to him when I was little and have liked him (and the Highway Men) since.

Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division.
Such an amazing song. Ian Curtis has such a deep voice - it really hits me when I listen to it.

Dirty Dancing - Black Eyed Peas
This song is very sexy. You can really dance to it.

I need you tonight - INXS
I've always been a huge INXS fan and I have always thought this song was a groovy one.

Wonderful Life - Tina Cousins
I thought she was lame until this comes out. There is something about this song - it always gets stuck in my head.

seek happy nights to happy days:
  • Au revoir simone – hurricanes
  • Pink Floyd – brain damage
  • Sleater-kinney - entertain
  • Air – surfing on a rocker
  • Psapp - curuncula
  • Joanna Newsom – peach plum pear
  • Ash – girl from mars
  • Mirah – don’t die in me
  • Buffy Saint Marie – the dream tree

here's my current playlist...

Sarah Brightman - Deliver me
I never listened to her music but this one is on the "Brokedown Palace" Soundtrack and it's just soo beautiful, it almost hurts...

Tegan & Sara - My Number
also from a Soundtrack - "Sweet November" but I have to admit I love every song by Tegan & Sara

Death Cab for Cutie - I will follow you into the dark
that one line..."...no blinding light or tunnels to gates of white, just our hands clasped so tight, waiting for the hint of a spark..."

David Gray - Ain't no love
I'm addicted to David Gray...his voice, his music...the sad piano songs are my faves, like this one

I love you but I've chosen Darkness - According to plan
I just love the beat...

Kosheen - Catch
simply because it makes me think of my crush

Lou Barlow - Home
great voice....it's a song you want to hear again and again

Spoon - I turn my camera on
it has a funky beat...makes me wanna dance in the middle of the street

Sufjan Stevens - For the widows in paradise
you gotta love Sufjan Stevens...it took me a while to get used to his songs, but now I love them...

The Decemberists - The engine driver
"...and if you don't love me let me go..."

Sons and Daughters - Johnny Cash
just an amazingly great song!

Wolf Parade - Shine a light
first song I heard of them...first song I loved

Interpol - Not even jail
my fave Interpol song right now

Fairy, I'm right there with you on that one. My best friend and I share a fairly similar taste in music and she was in love with everything he did the minute she heard it. It took me quite a bit of time to get used to it. However, now that I have, I never want to listen to anything else, lol!

Thanks again everyone for making this thread so much fun for me. I've definitely got to see what this whole Wolf Parade nonsense is that everyone keeps bringing up. Also strawberry got to give you some love for the Sleater-Kinney song, one of my favorites

The Arcade Fire - Vampire/Forest Fire
Shadow Project - Forever Came Today
Sonic Youth - Shadow of a Doubt
Ladytron - High Rise
Kraftwerk - Autobahn
Death in June - A Slaughter of Roses

the first song I heart of him was "To be alone with you" and I loved that one straight away...but then I listened to more of his stuff and kinda thought that one song was the only good one....and forgot about all the Sufjan Stevens songs I have on my pc...and then some while ago I listened again and loved it...

and thanks for starting this thread, youarearockstar! :flower:

Too_chic, fear not, that's what this thread is about for me. To see all the interesting music that people are listening to at the moment. The more I get in terms of mood and feeling from their music the more interested I am to see what it makes me feel. Its all about diversity, and making sure that there's an inclusion for that diversity.

By the way, Push It, is a classic. Never call that song generic! Glad to have yah here posting!
