Y's Exclusive S/S 2013

first season for this "suits" line consists of jackets, pants, skirts (sold separately), shirts, and shoes. available at Y's stores for the present.

i'm not sure it really needs to be a separate, defined line...
but the pieces are all very nice...

i guess is like a little subdivision of Y's...
but Y's is looking like a big mess of stuff these past few seasons, imo...
just a little bit of everything...
like a big stew...


looks like they are definitely marketing things differently in the US than in Asia these days...

teiban seems to translate to "fixture"...
but i guess it means sort of permanent classic styles...?

the fabrics seem really lovely...
and the shirts are so charming...

i think it would be difficult to market these in the US because they seem so soft and feminine and i don't think american women want to be perceived that way in business with men...
i do think they must do well in japan and would also work in europe...

that last dress is so perfectly classic...
i've been looking for a dress just like that for years...
it seems like an ageless item that would always look chic...
also it is the perfect canvas for some bold jewelry...
i can imagine a very elegant woman with pulled back silvery grey hair wearing that...


and looking better than most 20 yr olds...

yes teiban is what you guessed rightly. in the 80's it mainly referred to items like 501's.
now what stores call their teiban are those styles that can be found regardless of seasons, even though there may be updates in details such as color, fabric, etc.

the dress with the collar is just gorgeous!
even better than the other one...
that one is very classic and chic but this is a bit more unique...
and i have to say that for some reason i really like the jackets with no collar...
i am used to a very sharp collar from yohji but these are more subdued while still being extremely chic...
i especially like the tweedy fabric...
i have been obsessed with this sort of fabric for a long time...
it's a beautiful compliment to a black wardrobe...

*i confess that i really like all the images in that magazine layout as well...

can you tell me what magazine they are from?
is it fudge? is that a magazine?
i'd like to see what else they do...

fudge is a magazine yes, but it's where the first two images are from.
the images in the layout are what someone seems to have scanned from the latest issue of this magazine.
if the cover was some representation of what they do, you can see the ones from last year here.
