Yves Saint Laurent Mens S/S 09 Paris

The review and all pics are from men.style.com

and the kind of gold beading last seen in Liza Minnelli's stagewear. But everything (okay, everything except for the beads) looked entirely masculine.

so, that last gold jacket is beaded? i thought it was lurex :(
i was gonna say i wanted it but i'd never be able to afford beaded.

I wish models were used so we could see how the clothes would appear on a person...
but from the looks of it it's not bad but not outstanding either....

well, the jackets are very YSL....but, I don't know....maybe with the time this collection grow in me.

I'm a bit disappointed by this. Last season was great IMO.

The video does not show the collection very well. It's like a bad acid trip.

YSL has been my fave for awhile and still will be in the future I believe, but I am disappointed in this. I wish I could see the clothes on live models and see how the move etc.

im sorry but this is a total miss!! Nothing compared to his fall 2007 collection which was just sublime (esp the first half of it) , this looks like what Joan collins or Linda Evans of Dynasty would wear circa 1985 , way too Vegas ,too shiny and tacky and those harem type pants are hideous.

Whoa! Shiny fabric alert. The photos from Style.com make the clothes look terrible and cheap, is it the flash?

^^^ no the lighting is dim , the fabrics are very cheap and the pants are god awful , a major let down. They look worse on the model than they do on the mannequin.

completely not impressive, disappointed....they change designer after 08 Fall?

I think he's trying to visually challenge the onlooker.. Maybe? So often times having the clothing on the models can be misleading as well. They are often taller, understand the best way to walk in order to present the clothing in the best light possible. The clothing often shares the limelight with the model. Except, with this form of presentation, the full focus is on the clothing. Unless, of course, the ugly floor pulls away your attention.
