which season will you be showing?

please post pics when available,
thanks for letting us know

Good luck Zam!

Is Jessica Ogden participating again this year?

sorry i took so long to respond to you all.
Lena, i will be showing my spring summer stuff ( that is in a couple of stores now) i wanted to show fall but they requested spring as Jamaica is a tropical country and the audience may not "relate" well to a fall collection.
actually jessica ogden is not showing at style week.
She is showing at Caribbean Fashion Week which is another fashion week held one or two weeks afterwards by Pulse modelling agency. (i think the whole idea of having two fashion weeks, each once per year, so close together actually sucks, but.........
moreover i think things are in it's embryonic stage and all of this competition between the two organizing agencies is not good for the region.

i decided to show at style week because the organizers were more youthful and shared a similar vision to mine regarding the futue of caribbean fashion. i want to help the development of the region as i believe that it is the last great undeveloped frontier of international fashion,

here is an article from one of the local newspapers that is an official sponsor.
i think the article kinda sucks but..........
we have a lot of work to do in changing the culture and making the region a major player on the fashion scene............................

Jamaican designers who are participating in this year's STYLE WEEK JAMAICA organized by Saint International, will have the privilege of interacting with consultants from the prestigious Parsons School of Design. One of the consultants, Beth Charleston is a consultant with the powerful Calvin Klein brand.
Charleston is expected to engage the local designers on a number of issues including the impact of former designers as an inspiration for fashion today and the current trends and direction of international design. Charleston's experience includes:

Parsons School of Design Lecturer of History, Culture-a two part undergraduate course required for all fashion design students covering fashion history; Research Associate in charge of the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Responsible for the management of a 25,000 piece garment library that served as an inspirational resource for all design divisions at Calvin Klein;
This, Saint CEo Dewight Peters said, was an important step for the agency in providing sophisticated terms of reference to the Jamaican designers with whom it works.
The Parson's School Of Design has been a leader in the field of art and design since it was founded in 1896
"There's no doubt that fashion is as intellectual as it is creative and for this reason, I wanted to give our Jamaican designers the chance to gain more base knowledge on elements of the industry that could propel their ambitions to become international brands.'
The knowledge to be gained through these workshops can only augur well for the local design industry. This is an inaugural program and according to the SAINT CEO, there is an intention to facilitate a sustainable program of collaboration between the Jamaican design industry and the leading innovators in the fashion world such as Parsons and other leading institutions
Approximately 25 Jamaican designers are registered to participate at STYLE WEEK JAMAICA, which runs from May 24-28, 2006 and will benefit from the experience.
