bad news for everyone who were lusting after the chloe-knockoffs
 i've been to one of the stores round here and got to speak with the brand manager. they had the shoes in store for only one day and then they had to send them back to spain. and they won't come back...
maybe they look a tad too much like the original

interesting thing i learned: they have a comupter where they can check all the stuff that they have got in stock  now all you need to find is a nice sa who will browse through this if you are looking for a special item...:innocent:

damn. now i need to find other shoes...

ps: this brand manager was such a sweet lady who really tried everything to find out about the shoes... i was impressed

Just so you know, the same thing happened to the adorable silk draped dress from this season's ads, the purple one. We had it for one day and then we had to take it out of sale again. Which is such a pity, because it was gorgeous.
I'm curious, what is the original inspiration for that dress? Does anyone know?

bright pink clutch/shoulder bag

balmain/chanel/d&g inspired blazer

Oh NOOO!!!!!
So that's why I still haven't found the boots! Never even saw the Balmain knockoffs and now on to the Chloes!

I hate all this teasing and items withdrawals and can't believe that Zara caved in because of threats of prosecution.

I mean the business of Zara is 100% about copying designers and that's how the brand built its fame/profits on.

All the stocks being removed and not sold is a total loss for Zara...

The 1st case of withdrawal I remember is the "Balenciaga" blazer a couple of years ago and even at the time, Zara kept the disputed item in stores quite long before removing it.

Anyway, the economic pressure must seriously be stronger and more efficient on Zara to prefer pure losses to financial agreements or compensations.

i think its ridiulous and annoying as well.

there is no copyright protection for shoes clothing etc. only patterns.

its false advertising for zara to advertise these things and then not have them for sale.

its basically fooling the consumer into thinking that when they go onto zara.com and see images of the items the clothing/accessories might be in the store...

the consumer goes into the store and finds nothing...

its a shame really. it makes me think less of zara.

ah, i've fallen in and out of love with the tweed blazer...I can't make up my mind whether to get it or not!

I find it annoying as well, but on the other hand, why shouldn't there be copyright protection for such things? Or in the very least, more of an ethical opposition to ripping off designs? There is a difference between taking inspiration from a design and ripping it off entirely. And as a consumer, I would prefer to go for the inspired design than the rip-off. At this point, Zara has too much of a status in fashion to be soley copying others' designs. High street brands like H&M and Zara have improved their quality, and are being regarded as "important" brands in their own right. Their designs should follow suit.

^Exactly. Zara hasn't always been just about copying designers, I think. They have always had great stuff of their own designs. And on another note, why do they keep copying these dresses & shoes so blatantly, if they know they will be prosecuted and have to take them back eventually?
