A model wears a creation by Belgian fashion designer Cathy Pill at her Fall-Winter 2008/2009 Haute Couture collection presented in Paris, Tuesday, July 1, 2008.
Why would someone want to spend a fortune on a couture dress like this when you can get something similar from s/s 08 chloe (and probably on sale too!) Im not saying has couture has to be all embelished and extravagant volumes and shapes. But this is so RTW, I see nothing couture about it (except the handpainted shoes)
yea cathy famous with her prints...before this i saw her r-t-w collection was some mannequin presentations..im not sure is she doing HC now?
any1 know Alexis Mabille is doing HC or rtw..?
Just because something isn't embellished to the pt. of insanity,
does not mean it isn't 'couture'...
The print work on the fabric, which is a very tedious process,
probably took hrs. for each dress as it was more than likely
done by hand...
Anyway, I can't say I care for the shapes of the garments..
But the print work is marvelous and inspired...
A lovely array of colors...
