Found on eBay. Description with it: 1923, 8" x 10" Publicity Portrait of Barbara La Marr from the long lost silent film THE ETERNAL CITY (1923).

Some info of the elegant movistar Dolores del Rio:Born in Mexico 1905 in a aristocratic family. She made her first film "Joanna" 1925 wich turn her into the female "Valentino", her carrer rose until the arrival of sound 1928.Dolores made some hollywood movies in the 30´s but she get bored with her image as a exotic femme fatale and get back to her native Mexico and made a lot of successful movies. Her last film was "the children of Sanches" 1978.She died 1983.

it had live piano music that sounded great because the ceiling has the shape of waves. you are so to say surrounded by the music of one piano.

the film itself was good, too. i liked the scenes that showed the lively streets of the city, but the clothes of betty amann were dreamy (although i sometimes found her looking too artificial.. but, well, that didn't bother me too much.) it's a pity i can't find more pictures were you can see what she is wearing. those of you who know the film remember anyway. ^_^

So happy for you, you got to see this great film at a great theatre with live music  I wish everyone could experience this too :buzz:
Thanks for all the pics~
She reminds me a bit of Clara Bow in some of those- I have never seen this film or anything with her in it- where do you live Northernsky?

thank you. :flower: if you should ever come to germany you should visit this theatre. it's said to be one of the finest in europe. (it's in wiesbaden, an hour away from frankfurt i guess.)

the next silent film to be screened is "die keusche susanne [= the innocent susanne]" a film from 1926 by richard eichberg. never ever heard of it.. so i did a little research on the female cast. and i found some great pictures of lilian harvey and ruth weyher so i thought i'd post them here as they both haven't been mentioned yet.
