i was going to post this in the 1920's thread but fortunately i read your message, orchide
louise brooks is my favorite actress and icon, and this image is a stencil a friend of mine has placed in a few choice locations throughout buenos aires...
(i have some books about our magnificent louise, and as soon as i get my scanner fixed i'll try to post some pictures!)
i will share them as soon as my boyfriend fixes my scanner, hehe...
you posted wonderful pictures! i'm so happy to find other people who appreciate louise, as she is mostly unknown in these parts
since i'm new at this, i'd like to ask if the following thing is normal: i only see the image i attached when i am logged in. do you still see it if i'm offline? or is there another way of posting pictures that allows them to be visible even when you - the poster - are not online?
Hi Edna- we can still see it
The thing with attachments is that they is a limit/capacity to how much you can attach.
I prefer to use a free photo hosting site like tinypic.com or photobucket.com for uploading from my computer then inputting the image link here and giving credit of course to the site of origin.
For oversized pictures, to put up a clickable thumbnail which can be opened up, I like to use Imageshack.com.
Always make sure to credit the source and if you scanned it yourself, state that along with giving credit to the book/magazine it is from and/or the photographer
Hope this helps!
merci beaucoup, orchide!
i hope i'm able to do it right with your clear instructions...this is a new world for me! (i've been collecting images for years, but didn't know there was such a great place to share and discover things old and new like this forum!)
Yay
If there is someone you think deserving of their own thread who is a true Icon and you have pictures to share, you can start up an individual thread if you like. Their photos from other threads can be pulled over
since i got a new scanner i can finally share some pictures with my fellow louise brooks adorers!
scanned by me, from the book "louise brooks: portrait of an anti-star", published by new york zoetrope.
FYI: this book is great, but most of the pictures in it are screencaps most of you probably have seen before...i chose these images because i think they haven't been posted before, and i really love them
