Courreges is one of my absolute favorites. I was actually going to start a thread on him but I've been maxed out on the Internet lately. Thanks, Space and Anna for pictures!
You´re right, Benzo. It´s Christian Dior Haute Couture, S/S 2005... very good point ...
I´ve personally never been a big fan of Courrèges, especially with the colours, the orange-y red, the silver and whites - I know it´s been the Zeitgeist for a certain period but for me, it instantly feels like vintage Star Trek costumes... nothing I would probably consider *wearing* (still more so than vinatge Paco Rabbane )
i agree about the silvery stuff, tricotine, it definitely has a star trek vibe about it...
but i'm very fond of the more classic pieces like the one i posted from tangerineboutique, they have something flawless, the navy dress i have is similar, it looks very simple and is absolutely eye-catching on a person though....
We have a good chunk of Courreges in the costume collection I work at (who would have thought midwestern socialites were so chic!). A lot of it could easily be worn today without any changes. I have an old Vogue from the early 80's and there's a shot of a patent leather Courreges outfit that was really amazing. As far as his influences on contemporary fashion goes, Nicholas Ghesquire picks up a lot of ideas from him...
