I’m very much not feeling a return of pink and am pers. tired of the unflattering greens...I would love to see a continuation of peach/nude/beige along with powder- & cornflower blue  and a Miro-like palette for a more graphic young fashion story.

I think that the peach/nude/story will be there too, as neutrals are extremely important, but I cant help feeling the return of pink alongside it as well, and feel that it fits in to the whole feminity theme.

I am also feeling for a return to pink and lots of greens too, and tons of black to follow on from this autumn 05.

Anyone agree or disagree?

pink has been a bit tired, so we will not see much of it for ss06 apart from the uber pale version, i saw it combined well with pale saumon and pale lilac ;)

b&w is huge and bringing in accents of red it leads to a very refreshed africa look, green is there in yellowish and blueish tones (see pale teal and pale river greens), lots of washed off blues paired with dove grey and silver grey, earth tones like pigmeted browns, orange, beige (africa influence) were all over the place at pret-a-porter Paris

whites combined with what i call 'fake' whites where also huge for mass production, mainly for the romantic/turn of the century/light victorian mood

*those are notes taken from my visit to the pret-a-porter trade shows during last weekend ;)
i was basically scourcing/buying accessories so i didnt spend too much time on garment collections but anyway, this is what i came up with :ninja:

yes, i saw the Miro influence, young lines had a more 'puristic' colour stories, leaving the 'developed' colours for the 'older' collections..
raw, un-refined basic colour looks fresh for young lines

Lena, wasn't sure what you meant by "fake" whites ... do you mean icy pastels?

yes, you can call them icy whites if you wish fashionista-ta, but sometimes they can be 'warm' like vanilla's etc, so i use the term 'fake' to include all possible shades

you know how peculiar i'm with fashion terms :D :ninja:

I think for ss06, we'll finally be moving away from all the ethnic/boho whatever nonsense they threw on us this year..... Things will be a lot simpler I believe.... Softer shades.... all very natural/aquatics.... Like very very pale shades of blue/green/turquoise infused with grey and white......

It's going to be like a walk on the beach at 4h00 AM, cold and breezy....

very pale shades, yes.. pastels..hmm no

i was quite surprised to see the continuation of the ethnic trends while in Paris this weekend for the ss06 pret-a-porter collections kimkhuu.. Africa is still all over the place for mass production lines, the india influence is less strong (thanks god for that)
brasil is HUGE

simple= neo minimal, this yes. its on the rise and colourwise its expressed through fake whites (washed out pastels) or dark shades (mostly affected by greish hues over any kind of 'normal' colour eg. browns, blues, greens etc)

items imported from Brasil, refferences to Brasilian colours (yellow & green), details that speak Brasil (charms, rosaries, those good luck ribbons etc)

am seeing tons of navy and tons of blues in different shades like cornflower, soft/pastel blues etc...

as i see from lates s/s collections,

beige and other earth tones will be huge, imo.

I agree with you, in fact the neutrals in my mind will predominate, but alongside this story, I see blues, and strong highlights of a bright red( which fits in with the nautical look as well) which I am think will be massive. I also feel for spicy colours, lots of yellow/ocres/etc...

same as with our spring summer 06 trend forecast, we need to end discussing this topic as the shows are already underway.
feel free to start new topics on spring summer 06 colour trends as you see them poping out the catwalks

thanks everyone for your interesting imput in this forecast discussion, so many replies were right on spot. :flower:
