So I decided last-minute to hightail it out of Tokyo and spend the countdown to the new year in NYC, the city I fell in love with this year. Due to the economic downturn I realize it isnt exactly the best year....but I am determined to have a good time anyway. I`m at a total loss as to what/where is a good place to spend the countdown however. I wont be alone, but where is a good place for a through-and-through fashionista and one or two people to enjoy the night?

I have spent a countdown at Tokyo Tower before, but the best has to be at Meiji Shrine where all of the Japanese people pray for the new year after it hits midnight, drinking hot sweet sake and octopus takoyaki dumplings--- or, the massive Ageha for clubs.
