2012 : is the world ending? and what happens after that?

^ indeed, wish it had ended. But since it didn't, good thing there are plenty of pity-it-didnt-end parties to choose from for tonight.

I came back from work feeling ill. No Apocalypse party for me tonight. :glare:

Hopefully butter socks are a stand-in for good shoes (which I have in quantity, but not on my feet just now).

Feel better, Nemova ...

I have to admit, I didn't think anything would happen but I still feel a little... disappointed. My dad works in computers and he demystified Y2K for me, way back when, but this apocalypse seemed like it might be special.

Oh, well, I'm just grateful we get another excuse to party before New Year's.

Well...my world could be ending...I started watching a television show about football, a sport that for the most part I dislike, and I loved it! Friday Night Lights for the win! ;)

Many years from now, we should show the movie '2012' to younger generations and be like: 'See that? Yeah, I survived that :D

^ LOL I never saw that movie, Hollywood cashing in on people's stupidity!

But did anyone really have a party? Everyone keeps joking about having a party like it is supposed to make them look smarter or something but did anyone really have a party?

Okay but did you really have a party or is just part of announcing one does not believe in this shite? :D

For me, it was about alleviating the disappointment, you know? I'm not saying everyone wanted the world to actually end, but all that waiting had to be for something. I just sat home, though. In the end, it didn't seem worth it anyway

did anyone really have a party?

i did, with some friends we travel 1 hour to party at another town, we had just gotten out of our final exams and wanted to have a nice time and get wasted and that happen to be the 20 going to the 21th. we used the phrase "as if it is the last one" in everything we did. we drank, ate and dance and had a very good time B)

^ :p

Now, does that mean you believed the world was about to end and you wanted to end it with a blast or that you celebrated in mockery of all the people that actually believed the world was about to end?

^ Does it really have to have a meaning? Can't it be just another good reason to party hard?

^ Like I said, if you party it must mean one of two things:

a) You don't believe the world is ending but you just want to make a joke on the believers' expense, or

b) You believe the world is ending but you want to end it by having a blast, so which one is it? :p

There's a mystical point in the calendar known as "the last Friday before Christmas", where mankind traditionally casts off its places of work and education in favour of partying like there's no tomorrow, until people wake up the next morning and feel like their world has come to an end. This tends to be an annual event.

^exactly my reason too.
it was just and excuse to party hard, i say again, we had just gotten out of our finals exams... we needed to party hard.
i woke up without a hangover which was even better :D... my friends in the other hand...
