^This is the CLOSEST guess yet!!

Woooohooooo, Cape Verde it is!!!! Good detective work luna!!

So give me a couple minutes and I'll give the answers to all the clues...

I thought it was going to be totally obvious because I had said somewhere that I was brazilian, so I thought people would catch on to me picking another portuguese speaking country, guess not :)

This country:

1. has an expatriate population that is greater than its domestic population
2. it's capital, when translated to english, means "beach"
3. is about 600km (450 miles) away from it's closest neighbor
4. is best known around the world for its most famous singer
5. is great for diving around shipwrecks since it used to be on a major trading route

Hmmm, kinda hard right?

1. so this is true, its population is just 418,224, not sure what the expatriate one is though
2. the capital is "praia", portuguese for beach
3. it's in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of West Africa, near Senegal
4. Cesaria Evora, come on, you've all heard of Cesaria Evora, right??
5. this one I already gave away, it used to be an important stop on the slave trade route

Sorry guys, I guess this was really hard.

Ok, so in this country they speak 2 languages. One is a form of creole, but if I spell it the way it's really spelled there, you'll know, so that's a "close enough" clue...

A couple more guesses and I'll shoot another clue at ya B)

And they speak Portuguese (because Portugal colonized them) and Crioulo (a mix of portuguese and west african words that is totally unrecognizeable to people from other portuguese-speaking countries)

I guess this country maybe is one people don't really know about....

Another clue, its name is 2 words, and one of the words, is a color (in the language from the country, not english....)

If you all want me to stop and just give it up let me know!

and verde=green, so "cabo verde" would translate to "green cape"

Luna, it's your turn now, stump me, if you can :ninja:

Awwwww..... Dang !! That was a toughie, mundo!! But big congrats to Luna for figuring it out!! :flower:

Yah, it would've taken me forever to figure it out!!

1. Slightly smaller than Maryland
2. Majorly mentioned in a semi-recent movie
3. Depends on Agriculture
4. Most densely populated of it's continent.
5. Had a huge economic struggle in 1989 when the price of this popular drink dropped.

This is the clue that's killing me, I know exactly what the other clues are pointing at, and then nothing is that small!!

Now I feel like I'm competing with yourbestfriend to figure this one out, good times :D

Here's another clue:

While the country is considered "landlocked" it borders a small body of water.
