Oprah isn't there because this is a New York list, and she's in Chicago (which is in Illinois )

PS It would be really helpful if a mod could change the thread title to include "in New York"

And likewise, Stella is not even in the US

Gayle is powerful because she has Oprah's ear, has her own show on Oprah's XM channel (aired during prime time), and is a major influence at O magazine.

Presumably actors and actresses and powerful because movies can get made when they are attached to them, their box office results, etc. Powerful in terms of NY industry & culture.

I thought I was going to get ragged on because I was going to post something about Rachel Ray and Beyonce being on the list but I see I'm ot the only one. WTF??!! The other people I can see and understand but those two..... Oh well It's an interesting list to say the list
