By the way, it's been "confirmed"; Nicole Kidman's dress is Gucci, Purple was right! ;)

To those who are curious dresses are by (for):

Nicole Kidman - Gucci
Halle Berry - Valentino
Eva Longoria - Oscar De La Renta
Hilary Swank - Calvin Klein
Cate Blanchett - Jean Paul Gaultier
Emmy Rossum - Ralph Lauren
Renee Zellwegger - Carolina Herrera
Charlize Theron - John Galliano for Christian Dior
Diane Lane - Monique Lhuillier

Is that Bijou Phillips looking vaguely classy for once? LOL.
I thought Hilary's dress was Calvin Klein. I looked at it, and I knew it was the brown version of the yellow one that Scarlett J. wore last year...and it hangs better on Hilary, too.
I like Rachel Bilson - she's so cute. I'm not tooo fond of the dress, though. I don't like the colour.
Naomi Watts is really pretty, but the dress is a little bland...

For me,

Best Dressed: Emmy Rossum and Portia de Rossi
Worst Dressed: Paula Abdul

Nicole and Charlize's dresses looked too similar for any awards, though I like Charlize's choice much better.

what the hell is with everyone and the hate rituals (etc. burn..) with eva longoria, i mean seriously, so what? it could've been a rip-off maybe she just wanted to wear the dress because she thought it looked kinda pretty, i thought fashion was about being versatile....at least.;) :innocent:

bijou actually looks nice and as for lisa, lose the cape, but she doesn't like to party with the hollywood folks all that much, that's why she doesnt' look like she wants to fit in, though i bet she was still grateful they asked her to present an award though:shock:

i wish she would've gone in this though:

Rip off or not, it looked bad. Her hair and makeup was BEYOND tacky.

You're right, she did look pretty tacky. Then again, that seems to be the trend in Hollywood right now, at least among the "instant celebrity" types. I was really pleased with Nic and the stars with more class this year, though...

SO MUCH BLACK! WHY? Even the Rivers! N um didn't peopel say the desperate housewives will look like a billion bucks... huge disappointment... they look a bit bland... except teri hatcher.. whose dress is a bit over styled... N its so rare that Kate hudson doesn't look good in something.. she usually knwos what works for her body.. WHAT HAPPENED?

Sarah Jessica wasn't there because Eva Longoria stole her dress!!! Who are we kidding?

Ugh! Boring! And you totally know that Sarah Jessica would have (yet again) wore that same style of dress by of course, Oscar de la Renta. I'm pretty sure he has the patent on that style. I'm over it. And I hated the dress when Karl Lagerfeld designed it too. Why does she think she looks so wonderful in that shape? I liked her better in that bondage tom ford she wore a few years back to the Tonys. Everyone crucified her for it. I was just happy she didn't look like she should be a dancer instead of a performer.

Kudos to Eve, I don't think shes ever looked better.

I thought the best dressed was Hillary Swank with Nicole a very close second. I don't know, Hillary wooed me with the color, I'm very partial. That is not the same dress that Scarlett wore to the Met Costume Institute gala, appears to be the same fabric, but not the same dress. As for Kate Hudson, same color, didn't like it as much and that was Atelier Versace, who knew? Doesn't look Atelier worthy to me. It was a nice dress, nothing special. She looked good in it.

Mischa - someone asked who it was and I don't think anyone has said. It's Azzaro. It was ok. I just think she's dreadfully skinny. So much so that nothing really looks good on her.

Halle, this is probably the first major dissapointment from Halle for me. Just didn't look good on her, I was worried for her breast. The whole think looked awkward.

Nicole - I really liked this dress though it really did not look Gucci to me at all. That must be Facchinetti for Gucci, yes? Can anyone confirm that? I was thankful of the color too. A lot better than that atrocious chanel column she wore to the oscars a few years ago. The best part about that outift was certainly the necklace. Anyway, she stole my heart with the back of this gucci.

Charlize. I hated it. I hate hate hate Dior. It's the only house that irritates me beyond belief. And Dior Couture yet! It's horrid. To call that couture. The look has been done to death, along with the color of her hair. I think it's wretched.

Renee, ugh. Next!

Cate Blanchett. Who said she always wears light colors? Port colored satin Donna Karan to the oscars with the Fred Leighton dragonfly brooches last year, remember that? (my favorite) I think she always looks 100%. Beautiful Gaultier. My third favorite.

Emmy Rossum. I hated it. I hate her. I hate Ralph Lauren and whats so wonderful about that dress? Please someone tell me. I look at it and I get fashion deja vu.

Kate Winslet, never wants to be daring and I love her for it. Always classy and elegant. Remember the red Ben de Lisi with the flower strap going across her chest? I'm still not over that dress, I had an orgasm when I first saw it.

Anyone see Star Jones? I think marriage has made her think she can get away with anything. She made me weep all the wrong tears.

The Rivers, ever disastrous as usual. If they looked good I would have been dissapointed.

Jenn Garner - looked beautiful. Love that signature Valentino piece. I didn't think she wore it bad either.

Krisitn Davis and Cynthia Nixon. I bet they wish they still saw Pat Field everyday to show them how to dress. Boring.

And Natalie. Natalie Natalie Natalie. One minute I like it, the next I hate it. I will agree with those who said it suited her. Absolutely, it's very her. I just don't know if I like it. I think I like it from the waist down. I really like the bottom. And Chloe. Anyone else find that an interesting red carpet choice? It's certianly not expected.

Where were the Elie Saab creations?? You can always count on someone to throw some Elie in there. Not this time. Except Nicolette Sheridan. That one she wore a few weeks back, looked like she got hit by a Saab instead of wearing one.

And speaking for the Desperate Housewives. Teri Hatchers gown I really liked. I thought it was atypical for a Donna Karan, anyone disagree? I liked Marcia Cross. Nothing over the top, but not overly simple.

I really liked Laura Linney. She always wears Prada which can get old after a while but she manages to still keep looking wonderful on every red carpet.

And Kruger. What was that? And who put her on their best dressed list? I think you owe us an explanation. One sentence will suffice. Make us understand.

Except for Kruger, no really bad dresses out there. I think thats definitely a first. Overall, not very exciting, kind of disapointing, but at least not atrocious.
