Big reveal....? Disrupting?
What a desperate attempt at marketing. Ain't nobody got time for this magazine....
Who asked for this?

In order to be perceived as one of the 'greats', you need good art direction to lift things to the level of being unforgettable - if that's what you want your publication to signal.

I recently flipped through the new 72 Magazine at a local bookstore and the print product looks very good. The issues were not printed with book thick covers but they were very glossy and high-end. The price was $20. Advertisements are important to see new fashions, new/familiar faces, and photography but I did not miss seeing them inside the issue. The paper also had a distinctive smell which I loved. All these bits of photographs posted on these TFS threads flow beautifully inside the print issue.

The magazine is definitely not a waste of paper, resources, or energy. My favorite part of the editorial content is probably the makeup story and the wonderful Inez and Vinoodh portraits inside. There is a great shot of a smiling Penelope Tree in it. Please check it out if you can and see for yourself that it is not as bad as it looks. I was very tempted to purchase a copy and I will, eventually.

I saw it today....Edward don't be cheap and hire a decent art director for this....it looks bad...the only passable thing are the I&V spread....but 26 euros for that??? Even the guy from the newsstand said to me, they are crazy to charge that price for that type of mainstream magazine.

Julia is an icon, no doubt. Just not sure she was the right person for the debut issue.
I do love her in the wide pant suit though, very chic.

McDean's JW Anderson editorial is gorgeous. Simple and striking.

Amazed to see this just sitting on the shelves in WHSmith. I thought it was only available to purchase online. The quality is definitely there in terms of printing and paper stock, but for £15, I needed a whole lot more from Edward and team. The magazine is already starting to feel like a non-event.

Yeah it is just meh....they need to get better for the next issue...and also hire a good creative director and step up the design....here it cost 26 euros and it is not worth it at all...

I've seen it several places here in the States, too. Even at a suburban Barnes & Noble which doesn't have a massive fashion mag selection. It sort of felt like a rehash of Edward's Vogue days, but worse. Many of the same faces, though. I don't think it'll sell well at all. "72" was such an uninspired, bad choice for a title. Meaningless unless you're an Edward stan, but who is?
