A designer best & worst collections

Considering how boring the Fashion Spot is as of late, I've decided to open a new thread. It's about the best and worst collections of a designer in a certain fashion brand (anlabe32 inspired the thread). You can only choose two, but you can write some more in an unofficial way.

Alber Elbaz at Lanvin

Best:
S/S 2008
F/W 2008
Beyond wonderful... They must be in my top 10 collections ever.

I also adore S/S 2009 and F/W 2009 and almost everything he did before F/W 2009. F/W 2004. F/W 2007.

Worst:
F/W 2013

As a whole, a glorious tenure. Maybe the most consistent ever. Although he was sort of boring at the end... It looked like he run out of ideas.


Raf Simons at Dior

Best:
S/S 2013
HC F/W 2014

Honorable mention to his first one, which I didn't love, but seen with time it's not that bad.


Worst:

HC F/W 2013 I don't even know what he was thinking... It was TERRIBLE.
HC F/W 2015 Zero coherence, was like broken records mixed with very ugly ideas... Awful. Couldn't believe it was done by someone as talented as him.



Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga

Best:

F/W 2008
F/W 2005

He's my favourite designer ever, so very hard to choose his best collections... I like them all. F/W 2006 is genius, S/S 2006 is amazing, S/S 2008, both from 2007, F/W 2009 , S/S 2009 was great too, F/W 2011

Stefano Pilati at Yves Saint Laurent
Best:
S/S 2006 The Spanish collection.
F/W 2008

Also, S/S 2005 and F/W 2007. From F/W 2008 he lost it.

Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent

Best:
S/S 2013
F/W 2016 I was between this one and Fall 2014.

Worst:
F/W 2015


Tom Ford at Yves Saint Laurent

Best:
F/W 2003
F/W 2004

I love S/S 2002, S/S 2004 and S/S 2002 too...

Worst:

I think he didn't have a "worst" collection. They were all pretty consistent.

Best: S/S 2013 RTW and F/W 2013 RTW + Pre-Fall 2013
Worst: S/S 2015 Couture and S/S 2014 RTW

Hedi Slimane at Dior Homme:

Best: F/W 2001 and F/W 2003 + F/W 2006
Worst: S/S 2005 and S/S 2006

Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent:

Best: S/S 2013 and S/S 2015 + Spring 2014 Menswear
Worst: F/W 2015 and S/S 2016 Menswear

Just WONDERFUL.

Karl used to be so good till 2008 more or less... He did amazing shows, even if they were very rtw or too "normal". They had a special allure. His couture used to be amazing!

It's incredible to see how most of old-glories had a downfall from 2008 onwards... Galliano too.

Its funny to see how Karl, Elbaz, Pilati, Mcqueen, Ghesquiere and Galliano started to fail at the same time, 2008-2009....after having done their best collections.
