For me, the strongest and most interesting collections this season felt pretty obvious.
However, what really stood out this time was the scenography and the music — both were much more powerful and memorable than usual.
My bests are based solely on that. No particular order.
Valentino: the storytelling around the fireflies, the lighting inspired by them, the tense atmosphere contrasting with the flowing silhouettes, the mix of electro beats and violin… and that final moment when all the models look up. Bravo AM.
Courrèges: the music has become my workout soundtrack. The narrative around global warming, the way the light intensifies as the temperature "rises" — until it becomes blinding, oppressive, scorching.
The collection immediately makes so much more sense after that.
Louis Vuitton: Cate Blanchett. That’s all. Her voice — oh, her voice. And as always, NG has an incredible eye for breathtaking locations.
Tom Ford: the sex, the perversion, the coldness — all paired with such an incredible collection. 10/10.
I hated the soundtrack at first, but in the end it was much stronger than the original one.
And last but not least, Chanel: the one that put a smile on my face from beginning to end.
