A real life of a designer.

Those two jackets on the form are terribly chic, almost Mugler-esque in their sharpness, but much more realistic.

Those two jackets on the forms, absolutely stunning, the proportions are sickeningly perfect.

Very nice work Clay,
the jackets are really nice..... who is the designer
i may have to Check the mao Website..

Also You met Patricia!!!!
You Met her at the store?

She is a very Close friend of mine
You should have known her in her Rasta (locks!!!!!!) days
We used to hang out alot then and do a lot of Crazy stuff (SSHH!!!!)

I spoke to her last nite
Guys....... she is a really talented designer........ again, one that was ovelooked by the NY fashion Scene........ she still does clothes but more from an Artists perspective, I will try tp post some of her work when i have time
I used to make samples for her in my destitute, semi-homeless years:D

She was encouraging me to keep going last nite (I am in one of those "I HATE FASHION MOMENT)

i will send you a Pm tomorrow clay...........

Everyone I must say THANK YOU ALL for your kind words! I mean EVERYONE!
I was design director and designer for the line. My talented design team did the dresses you see there and everything else is mine directly. My team consisted of two young lovely and talented ladies named Malissa Masala and Michelle Nyuan.

Zamb, Trish told me she knew you as I told her I mentioned her on this site.
6 degrees bro! I actually knew her in her Dreds and she totally thru me for a loop when she showed up as a blond! I actually asked her if she was the same person I met a few years ago! She is really a great! Oh yeah the company was called Rushkin....As I said we parted ways.... I look forward to the PM.

Regarding the clothes we did there is more but I dont have great or all the photos.

In continuing with the thread I am currently NOT employed by any fashion companies( which may or may not be a blessing), but I am still looking. Truth is I only need a fashion gig to make enough money to pay for my own project(s). So the struggle for freedom continues.

Again, thank you all for your kind words! It really helps to have people appreciate a little of what you do. And Zamb I dont think anyone has hated fashion more than I have over the past 3 years, but as my friend Jean Rene says " We try". We try to do what we must.

JJ, I think Mauricio may not have kind words for the company in general and I may have fallen under that umbrella unfortunately. I do thank you though for the wishes!!

Those pieces looks fantastic!!

I assume "Patricia" is Patricia Field? I've always been a big fan of her.

I was courted by that company too......... but passed. I didnt trust the guy who made the referral......... not particularly interested in working for much fashion companies (unless its a job I can refuse). i have this Job designing a ton of products for the military , other than that I will continue to work on my own brand ........ that i want to keep small and make more artisanal in its essence.
I also will be adding menswear in a season or two, as i have a lot of friends and associates who are begging me to do it (based on the stuff i make for myself)
My disdain for the fashion industry doesnt mean i dislike making clothes, nor will I discontinue My work.............this is pretty much all i know professionally..........I mean I could learn other things but i choose not to
It is just that i see the industry becoming more soul-less and rapidly declining in its integrity, I am not sure that i can really find a happy place in an industry like this, that ask so much of beings, that often seems not mortally possible.
it is not like we are saving lives........ we are making clothes!!!!!!

Zamb I am right there with you, the industry itself is pretty awful. This is all I know also and pretty much only want to do, but it takes a huge toll as you know.

The thing is I want so little. I don't want a multi million dollar company. I just want to make great clothing (by my standards) and pay my bills, take a vacation, and maybe start a family I can support and not have to listen to some A-Hole telling me what to do.

Im sure the menswear will be great and I look forward to seeing it!

Happy New Year TFS!!!!!

I'm still moving forward and hope to be able to share good news with you all soon!!!

happy New year Clay............
hope everything is going well with you

I'm glad I found this. I thought I was the only one who is pretty sick of ( or bored, I can't quite figure it out) of the bull that goes on in fashion.

I hope you'll share some news soon!
