But as thefrancofille pointed out, there are a large number of portuguese that inhabit Brazil (the Portuguese being the largest ethnic group in Brazil), most of Brazil's population being of Portuguese descent. Aren't spanish and portuguese the two major languages of Brazil, with Portuguese being the official language of Brazil? I did some research, because I seriously didn't think that I was that dumb. But good to know that I wasn't completely out of left field.![]()
Either way, the people are gorgeous.
No, you weren't way out there. You were incorrect about Adriana's ethnicity, but in general terms, the connection between Portugal and Brazil isn't as out there as some posters are taking it to be.
I don't know why I am defending her though - other than she seems like a sweet girl. I can't bear her face. That is not a model. That is a cute local schoolgirl. Yes the Rampling comparison was rather left field -I think Harumi was just trying to use two extremes to illustrate -but even when you put her next to Barros or Bundchen or Hertzigova, she falls very short.
I think your wording threw things off because you said, "Brazil/Portugal or is from that general area." Although there may be cultural overlaps due to colonization the two countries are geographically distant and therefore not in the general area.

Spanish is such a sexy language.
