Aerin has fabulous taste in everything. Her overall style in clothing and interior design/decor strikes me as being ladylike and refined but not over-the-top. I really respect that.
"I wanted everything to be classic," says Aerin Lauder, referring to the off-the-shoulder duchess-satin Oscar de la Renta gown she wore to wed Eric Zinterhofer at her family's estate in Wainscott, New York, in June 1996. "The wedding was formal but with a casual, easy feel to it—very me and my sensibility." Now Lauder is bringing that sensibility to her lifestyle brand, Aerin, which launches with a line of soft, natural-looking cosmetics in glam gold cases. "The brand is about effortless beauty and effortless style," explains Lauder, who created that same feel at her wedding with simple, timeless details like wicker furniture and a traditional Sylvia Weinstock cake. "I carried lily of the valley—still my favorite—and decorated the tent with wild roses, which I replanted in my parents' garden afterward." But at the heart of the day were family and friends. "My favorite memory was dancing with my father to the song 'Thank Heaven for Little Girls,'" says Lauder. "It was very emotional for me." Photo: Courtesy of Aerin Lauder
Love her wedding photos. Aerin is one of the very few women whose socialite-esque style is naturally both current and timeless. To me she is like this generation's CeCe Guest.
