Exactly my thoughts ! It was very Valentino like particularly the see-through blouses, the shape of the skirts and the general royal inspirations with long fluid gowns. Sure the collection will sell well but artistically speaking it was not very inovating.

I don't see why every collection that has pretty, romantic dresses needs to draw immediate comparisons to Valentino...

I think there are some beautiful pieces here, and some not so beautiful, but this looks pretty on-brand to me.

^ I agree. Just because there are sheer and lace constructions doesn't automatically make it Valentino imho, even if that's all they've been putting out lately.

In this collection I really don't like the ending dress' bottom halves (they remind me of overdone tiered cakes), but I also like some articles a lot. Overall a nice collection.

To be honest I was really only referring to the hair, make-up and styling (Christ, even the shoes) I just think it's hilarious how utterly similar it is, and I would never compare Alberta's work to anyone else's up till this point.

This is pure elegance! What a beautiful collection.

Alberta Ferretti shows have had hair and makeup like this before, no? I don't see much Valentino either. It's not like their aesthetics are miles apart, anyway. And why would the Valentino duo laugh at a collection that is so beautiful? I think the reason some people may be thinking this looks like Valentino is because of the dresses with long sleeves, but it's not like that's unique to Valentino (just something they use often).

I liked the first 10 or so looks the best. Then it degenerates for me. Not too keen on the purple or greens, for example.
