My, it's only clothing. The collection seems fun and accessible enough.
Does every designer line have to be considered in philosophical musings?
I try and resist the temptation to compare apples to oranges.
I would like to see more.

It's only clothing, so does that mean one shouldn't have any thoughts on clothing? sh*t, buildings are just bricks and glass, paintings are just canvas and a bunch of oily substances in different colors.

And, no, there designers that are not considered in philosophical musings, but they tend to show in Milan.

There are eight looks in post #1, in case you missed them

a 'LOOK' is head to toe...an OUTIFT...
in case you don't know that...

the 'neckline' is around the face...
and a 'beauty' shot-(the first one)...
is one in which there are no clothes...in other words...
no 'look'...
and one shot is of the designer!!!...

only 6 pics even have clothes in them...
so....
there are in fact... 'almost' 2 LOOKS...(cause there are no feet)
and as i said...several 'necklines'...(half body shots)


so ...
unless you are psychic....
i think it is impossible to judge the entire collection based on the pictures posted...
especially in such obtuse terms as to whether or not it is 'conceptual'...

really? to me "conceptual" is a very concrete and intelligable term, nothing obtuse about it. this was a good enough representation of the "theme" of the collection, 2 LOOKS or not, and I don't think anyone in their right mind can say that this collection has no theme, and that its execution in the looks posted above serving as a sample of the collection, lacks concept because it's too literal.

i am talking about how people have commented on the concept not going with the 'mediocre' clothes...
when you can't really even see clothes yet...

love the headpieces, they are genius-ly fun
i believe the flapper is a loose theme, we can see non flapper-ish looks from what posted
i'd also like to see more

as for 'conceptual' of course it is
in its own way, to me almost anything can be conceptual

I like the idea, but it isn't that well done. There are some pieces that are ok, but overall I wouldn't buy anything from this collection.

i just discovered alena akhamdullina...i'm very very impressed.
i think in the context of contemporary russian fashion she's a star.
i adored the 'masks' collection from last season.

*and much prefer her style to that of Igor Chapurin. much more youthful and less polished.
