Vivienne Tam F/W 06.07 NYC

the red flower print dress is absolutely gorgeous...
this collection is definitely eyecatching and creative...
she plays the chinese style with so much fun...yet skillful...

i like asian influences, even when not expresses in the most creative way -as in VT's fw06.07 case.. (she could drop the fur)

thanks for the pics and the topic :flower:

I love love love the fabric .. is that brocade?

So feminine and urban ... *swoons*

Not entirely on topic, but I've always been a great fan of Vivienne Tam.

I dunno........I just really hate it when Asian influences are taken too literally and they end up looking 'costume' like. Which is why I've never been a fan of Vivienne Tam or Shanghai Tang. I mean if I wanted a genuine authentic Chinese dress. I much prefer it when Asian influences are use in a subtle way. The purple dress for example looks like a Hakasaan reception girl's outfit or something! The Kanji print also looks very gimicky which again I'm not a fan of.

The first dress is quite nice though. And the cream coat is also lovely.

I love it! It's rich yet wearable. The fabrics are amazing and I like how she mixed it all with the asian influence.
Anyway, I'm certainly a little biased as I'm a regular fan of her work.

maybe it's Chinese secretary chic ;)

^Oops...missed a bit out in my sentance. I had meant to say 'I mean, if I wanted a genuine authentic Chinese dress, I wouldn't be buying it form Vivienne Tam!'

Ta-ta: Chinese secretary chic! Gosh just imagine if all the secs turned up wearing that get-up!

I'm sorry but what's these pieces doing on a calkwalk ..? It looks like the clothing you'd buy at so-so department store..
..The only item I like is the blouse on Vienne Tam ..and that's a stretch..
