Do you think the day will come when they stop using that Anna Wintour quote about Alexa from 5 years ago? The book seems like a smart idea though, a sort of nice hipster coffee table book - I can't see her fans hating it.

That GQ carven dress looks like it's made from insulation fabric :ninja:

Ok now I'm going to sound mean... how is this her third Vogue UK cover? She's barely in Britain these days and apart from her book (and her American show) she doesn't have much going on. October is usually a pretty big issue.

She looks very elegant in her book launch .

To answer your question she's considered a style inspiration for alot of girls in Britian and she personifies the new english style. Shes looks effortless and proper at the same time . Also she's successful enough to be recognized across the pond as well . That allows her to score a Vogue cover over an actress who's publicizing a movie.

As her book suggests IT - she is having her moment

That qualifies her to score one Vogue cover, not three. My question was not why she is considered a style icon but why she has a cover now, when she's currently not having that much of a 'moment' (bar her book as I mentioned.)

Around 2007/2008/2009 she was all the British fashion media could take about but now they've had heartedly moved on to Cara Delevigne etc. Yes, she's a contributing editor at British vogue but she doesn't seem to have had much involvement with that either lately.

I'm not sure I agree with your comment about her US success rightfully giving her priority over an actor because there are much more commercially successful British girls in America right now. I think she can be likeable, but more to the point, Liz Matthews is just very good at her job.

I don't begrudge her the cover, I just don't get it.

That lace top/dressy thing with the velvet flats is a great combo on her - and with her hair up. It has a nostalgic vibe, and yet really suits her too.

p.s. who's the cute lad in the back of the taxi with her??

wow she doesn't look good in the vogue pics. definitely appreciate them doing something other than the 60's bombshell look, but she can't pull this off imo.
