Alexa Chung

I don't think she has a See by Chloe coat... someone thought the one in the photos was See by Chloe, but it's not. No one's been able to ID it yet.... I'm guessing it's vintage. :flower:
It has to be Vintage because I know it's not that See by Chloe one:p I still don't like that coat.

I loved the way Alexa wore that skirt [a bit oversized]

its gonna go for well over a 100 quid [and well over my budget ] I never worked out why do people bid so early...

I loved the way she wore it too. In fact I'm looking for something similar here but it seems that no one in Spain likes high waisted skirts :(

Two things matter:
How you wear it
If it fits your body shape

"High waisted skirt" is too general, Alexa's skirt is a big one [bubble/layered], it'd look like sh__ on anyone with a bit of curves/hips.
Honestly, only models and fashionistas can pull this look off.
Pencil skirts on other hand, are usually a flattering choice.

^ rubbish! :p

Id say most girls in their teens/early 20's and between a 6 & 12 could get away with it easily...tbh theres nothing that unusual about it  If you're really that bummed about "curves" and hips then add a contrasting belt like Alexa to draw attention to your [smaller] waist. Anyway at the end of the day, if you like it and it makes you happy who cares about "rules".

I am so in love with that Luella skirt. Although, I have to disagree, I think the bigger bubble-type skirts are much more flattering with curves than pencil skirts are. Besides, laisla is right, if you feel comfortable and act it, you're going to look great whatever the style.

LOL no [I thought this was common knowledge]
No, you're supposed to hide the problematic areas, not accentuate them. Bubble skirts are hardly flattering, unless you're as flat as a surfboard [like Alexa]

Keep telling yourselves that.:p
I feel comfortable in granny undies, does that mean I should wear them all the time? No.;)

what a load of old tosh. Girls, ignore what she said. If you want to wear a bubble skirt go ahead and wear one.

Those are the words of my modiste/stylist friend btw, It's her job to know better. My mom's makes clothes too [well, she's studied the thing so..] ;):innocent::p

Yeah yeah go wear something totally unflattering just because Alexa does.:p

^ Maybe they want to wear it because they actually like it.

Also, I don't listen to stylists. I dress the way I want to dress, not the way someone else wants me to. :innocent:

Sure. Doesn't mean they're gonna look good though;)

A modiste is always someone you can ask for advice. Not too mention most of the modern "fashion icons" have a stylist anyway.

There ARE rules in fashion and style.

^ Thanks!

Honestly Navygreen, cheer up... Fashion is supposed to be about having fun and expressing yourself. Otherwise, we'd all be Trinny and Susannah clones in waist-cinching belts and spanx pants :innocent:

Hadley Freeman has written an article for tomorrow's Guardian about the London party girl set. Alexa is mentioned and it says that "next month's [Tatler] cover will be a group shot of the core members of the set." Alexa's a core member, right?! I hope so, athough I'd prefer a solo feature :ninja:

You're welcome too :p

Alexa won't be on this week's NMTB :(. The official listings had two guests 'to be confirmed' until yesterday but they've all been announced now and there's no Alexa.
