Alexa Chung

yay just bought the pearl Topshop jumper for a bargain! It was the RRP !!! Woo bc they're going for like £100 on ebay ;) I'm so excited to wear it.

Drew Barrymore and Agyness Deyn have modelled for New Look too. It's a horrible shop, but they do pull pretty big names.

they look quite different from what "new look" normally do, maybe they're finally having a well-needed make over this season :p

Did she wear it on frock me? Sorry I must of missed it.

Alexa Chung for New Look?

Just as we were wrapping up our fabulous fashion issue at London's Big Sky Studios this morning (it hits stands next week, Grazia Girls!), we came across something of a fashion happening next door. First of all we spotted young up-and-coming photographer Matt Irwin (Dazed & Confused, Russian and Japanese Vogue) wielding his digital camera, and just beyond him the very tanned, endless legs of none other than Alexa Chung. Alexa, who made ours and American Vogue's best-dressed lists for 2008, was dressed rather jollily in a tiny shift dress with a giant camellia on her head and graphic strappy sandals that we wanted to steal right there and then. What were they up to? After bribing our way in with the brand-new issue of Grazia, we discovered these young media darlings are working together on the next campaign for... wait for it... none other than New Look! And very good it looks too. The rumour mill has been busy for a while with gossip that Alexa was designing a range for New Look. We can clarify that this is not the case, but we can't say any more than that. You'll have to wait to read it in Grazia – and watch it here on graziadaily.co.uk – on 17 March when the fruits of their labour will be revealed...

Oh, and Alexa won't mind us telling you that, apparently, her new BFF is star of The City (and ex-Hills girl) Whitney Port. They bonded over the fact they both think they've got ‘legs like a ten-year-old'.

I wonder who the 'secret' designer is?

Fashionista.com's take on it
After Alexa Chung popped up on Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label show during Spring 09 London Fashion Week, we expected her to land a semi-major campaign.

It was the perfect moment to move from noted British TV personality to model of something other than Tampax or Urban Outfitters.

And then there was word she’d be designing a line for New Look which was cool because the girl wears some amazing vintage and if it’s like Kate’s line for Topshop we’d basically get to shop Alexa’s closet when we’re in London next month.

But, it turns out she’s just the new face of New Look. Which means there’s no “designing” and no major campaign which is kind of a bummer because if ever there was a British It-Girl we’d champion it’s her, and she doesn’t even get to hawk Agent Provocateur.
I'm actually glad she's doing New Look instead of Agent Provocateur, but I think she should get a major campaign too. Another thing - I'd love to see her get a British Vogue cover :innocent::heart:

unlikely. they always seem to make their clothes look semi decent in shoots but the reality of them once you suffer the indignity of going into the shop to look at 'em is another thing altogether. that's if they ever make it to the shop at all that is, I remember there was a dress featured in an Elle shoot [modeled by the chungster funnily enough] that I was lusting after only for it never to appear in the store

She's so gaunt with the aspiration for cheekbones....
She looks more youthful with a fuller face.
