What’s in current rotation on your iPod?
The Exies are on there and The Shirelles and Roky Erickson.

Biggest difference between New York and London?
The rules in America are very oppressive. There are so many rules that people love to stick by. Like ID’ing you all the time, not letting you bringing a coffee into this venue (laughs). People are just sticklers for rules and they don’t let you sneak a sneaky one. Like smoking cigarettes… It seems quite regimented.

Favorite getaway spot?
At the moment, England, I guess. I don’t really have one since I never get to get away because I’m always working.

Best thing about your job?
I get free clothes!

When and where are you happiest?
When I’m anywhere my boyfriend [Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner] is.

As much as I love Alexa, I have to say, she seems to whinge just a little about how much she works, how early she has to get up, etc. Most of us do this 5 or more days a week for longer hours, 1/100th of the wage, zero or little perks and no free clothes!

I'm kind of surprised by just how much Alexa seems to dislike NY/the US. I don't think I've really heard her say a single nice comment about her current home.

^ My guess is she thought NY was just going to be a bigger version of London, but was disappointed. And she's really, really fond of England/London.

I think the problem is, is that she really doesn't have any NY American friends, to show her a good time. Think about it, if you look at her twitter most of her friends here, are just other english expats. But anyway, I would just like to hear Alexa say one good thing about New York.

aaanyway, my friend and i are going to her show on monday cos florence (+ the machine) is gonna be on there and we werent able to get tix for her concert before it sold out. i will report back if there is anything interesting to share!

NEW YORK OR LONDON? If they could build a hybrid that was New London, and it was a bit like New York in terms of restaurants and skyline, but London with all my friends -- that'd be perfect.
