Alexa Chung to quit MTV

Telly babe Alexa Chung has resigned from her hit MTV show. The star told pals she quit due to her "gruelling schedule". She also wants to spend more time with her boyfriend, Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner.

The British-born star, 26, will film her last episode of It's On with Alexa Chung this Thursday - the interactive entertainment show she has been presenting from New York since June.

Last night a close source told us: "She is absolutely exhausted. She's been working 16-hour days on four live shows a week. "She didn't want to do that any more. It's been absolutely gruelling and she hasn't had time to explore New York."

But Alexa will still split her time between the States and Britain, where Alex lives.

The source explained: "Alexa's a big deal in America. "She's had big acting, presenting and modelling offers. She's also very much in love with Alex and wants to spend time with him."

I had a dream that Alexa opened up a store in brooklyn, and I went in there looking to buy a christmas tree, but she looked at me weird an said "we only sell Hanukkah Trees:. So I shoplifted a big pea coat from her store. And then I woke up. No lie.
