ALEX TURNER has penned a heartfelt tribute to girlfriend ALEXA CHUNG on the ARCTIC MONKEYS new album.
Fire And Thud, on new collection Humbug - due for release on August 24 - contains the singer's most personal lyrics to date.
It centres around Alex's heartbreak when he heard that his TV presenter sweetheart would be moving to New York to work on her current MTV show, It's On With Alexa Chung.
He sings: "If it's true you're gonna run away/Tell me where, I'll meet you there."
The young lovers have just bought a flat together in Brooklyn and house-proud Alex has been jetting back there as often as possible to snatch a brief few moments with Alexa.
He even flew straight from a recent show in Boston to spend a day off in New York before then jetting to Chicago the following afternoon to continue the tour.
I'm told: "Alex is really excited about his new flat.
"It's the biggest investment he's ever made and he wants to make sure he spends as much time there as possible.
"It can prove impractical, but any spare second he gets off on the road he is trying to spend in New York."
Not that Alexa is complaining.
She is touched to have been immortalised in song and recently gushed: "Alex is so wise, it's ridiculous. I don't know where it comes from.
"Especially when he hasn't even experienced some of the situations he writes about."
Can't be long until we hear wedding bells...
