I finally have my mcqueen slik scarf in black with white skulls ... Ive waited since 03 for it!

And I wear it

ALL

THE

TIME.

Im a bit scared about the maintenace ... someone told me it shudnt even get in ctc with rain cuz itd leave a watermark .. I almost got it stuck to some velcro and -right after I almost cried- pulled it with practically no damage except for some runs .. no broke threads ... any tips?

i really want the classic white and black silk version of it.
i saw it at my nordstroms the other day and it was the original price os 220USD.
anyone know where i can get it for any less?

I really think the price you saw is a standard one.
It's about the same price in the UK.
The classic versions hardly go on sale, and the only place I can think of where you might get an authentic scarf for a cheaper price is just eBay.
Just need to keep searching, both eBay.com and eBay.co.uk, becuz it's not always the classic black and white ones that are being offered. But they do come up from time to time.
At the moment, there are a couple of genuine scarves (black skulls against white background, also classic) on eBay, and the starting price is pretty reasonable.

Just make sure you have it authenticated before biddng as there are so many fake versions esp. of the black and white one.

Really? :o I better be careful with my scarf then.

I personally don't think rain leaves watermark on the scarves. I've had over 10 of these skull scares, some of which are off white/cream. I wore my scarves several times when it was raining and I was on a bike; no watermark so far. But do have to pay attention to food stain/grease and pulls.

I agree. I had more trouble with pulls. One time my scarf got stuck in velcro from my messenger laptop bag an I had to pull it out and it's pretty visible now. The fabric is just very delicate.

I've never had watermarking problems with the chiffon scarves. If you have one of the silk twill scarves, though, those do watermark! It's not irreversible, but it takes a lot of work to get the watermark out, as I found when I walked under a drippy roof wearing my grey and pink butterfly skull scarf...

^ agree 100%.... that's why it pays to get one of the darker ones where you can't see it. The worse is any alcohol stain, but hey, they eventually do come out...

Oh my. How did you get the watermark out then?

I set the scarf on an ironing board with the watermarked side down. Then I used a plant spritzer bottle to spray the back of the area that had the stain with purified water, after which I immediately ironed the area with the iron set to the "silk" setting. I kept ironing until all the dampness was completely gone, then flipped the scarf over to check the original water stain. There was still a light "ring" around the area that had gotten splashed, so I repeated the process until it was gone. It took a while, but now the scarf is as good as new.

I have around twenty skull scarves and I have -never- had a problem with water stains on any of the others. I live in Seattle, so my scarves do go out in a lot of wet weather, but the silk chiffon ones do not appear to be affected by rain at all.

I love the look of it, and you can wear it in so many ways, sometimes I wear it around my hips or as a headband or hanging from my purse or just as a normal scarf.
