Anyone here working at the fashion business development field? Please do share your experiences :flower:

I've just started out as business development executive for a fashion brand. Here's a brief of my job scope:

• Prospect for new clients and actively promote organisation’s services to grow customer base and to achieve sales revenue targets
• Maintain current client accounts, cross-selling and up-selling to ensure continuity and retention
• Scan various medias for potential business opportunities and develop new corporate business opportunities
• Develop business proposals and follow up closely with clients/partners through business meetings and marketing events to secure new business
• Idea sharing with the creative director and the design team on product development
 
So ... to clarify .... you are responsible for wholesaling the line? To find buyers from retail outlets to carry the line? And also to provide feedback about retailers needs/wants so they can make decisions about their line and what to manufacture? It's mainly sales, am I right?
 
Yes, for now, since the brand is new, I'm in charge of wholesaling to push the brand into the market
But to add on, I also have to:
• Analyze appropriateness of the price mark-ups, the inventory levels, and their viability within the location world wide
• Manage OTB, retail sell through and inventory level
• Plan and execute marketing and merchandising strategies to maximize sales
• Plan and set brand strategies
