Allure June 2005 : Ellen DeGeneres by Michael Thompson

I'm sure that the image is indeed photoshopped to some extent, but I am pretty sure that the majority of the 'wrinkle removal' is due to a huge amount of lighting. As sort of evidence of that, I'll point to her pupils...which are very very very small. this only happens when someone's eyes are exposed to bright light.(although some drugs may have that effect as well????)

its amazing what you can achieve with lighting! when I was in highschool, I did a shoot with a girl who had horrendous acne, and I didnt even know what photoshop was back then - I used a ton of well placed lighting, and her skin looked immaculate....she was so happy with the pictures she cried!

however, I do agree that on magazine covers, photo-shopping goes to far.... It's depressing that they feel the need to remove all of the distinctive and human features of models and celebrities, ie wrinkles, moles, etcetera....these features are often what make people beautifull and interesting! I have always wished that I had freckles...

edit: holy spelling errors, batman...I must be tired, woops.

I have to agree too--daring choice and a wonderful choice, at that.
She is a strong, professional, hardworking woman......she deserves a cover :)

...Good for her.

i agree- yay for ellen:flower: even if she isn't normally so glammy and looks brushed, everyone deserves a vanity cover...heehee oprah does it all the time:p

I love Ellen she's hilarious she'll probably make fun of all the air brushing on the pics on her talk show

I love her style of humor. I can really appreciate and relate to how she takes embarrasing or silly things which have happened to her and just pitch it out there and make it hilarious.

I've always thought she was an attractive woman, as well, and think she has aged gracefully; however, that magazine cover is nigh on unrecogniseable. It's a combination of over exposed and over-manipulated. It looks like an entirely different person.

Maybe there are some more flattering and typical photos inside the magazine. I would hope so. The media needs to show that women can still look great, even after the first flush of adolescence has faded!

I ran out of space so I have to get rid of my mags, I scan all the stuff that interests me of that issue: ads, eds, accesories, makeup, etc...
