I think they're running with the whole "new Flake girl", as the ads have always been classic in the UK and them rehashing them was big news. I expect they'll keep it up for awhile, it'll get the public guessing on who's the next Flake girl! All the reviews have been great of the new ad with Alyssa.

P.S. I think Australian magazines are trying to boost Alyssa's name, but I don't think she is a house hold name yet nor is she on the same level as Gemma Ward is at now.

Gemma's been no.1 on models.com, not many people are at that level! Alyssa started modelling in '97 so of course she's not so frequently sighted now as when she started. I have a ton of magazines with her in them from 1997 - 2002-3, less so since. More of a household name back then too I think as she worked more in Australia and was in more 'everyday' articles in papers and non-fashion magazines as well as the Aus Vogue, Elle etc. covers she did. She's been modelling for 10 years now, remember, and when her career was as young at Catherine's is she too appeared on Aus brekkie shows, was on Good News Week in 2000 and has had a few Today/Tonight type features, one quite recently. As she now lives in NY she isn't as accessible as domestic models, and Ursula Hufnagel in an interview awhile back said that when they lose models to NY the domestic magazines find it hard to compete with the US market on model prices, hence models such as Alyssa, Catherine and Miranda are hard to get back over here. She's frequently in many big-name department store catalogues over there (Macy's, Nieman Marcus, Bloomies, WHBM, Jill Sander, etc), and still has current campaigns for hair and makeup, bags (Aigner).

Hopefully Catherine could get two Chanel makeup contracts when she's 25 years old, too!
