All of their collections is comprised of free-drawn machine embroidery and hand produced cutwork.

Aman Copland is a partnership between Stephanie Aman (RCA) and Clare Copland.

a luxury brand with the delicate end results attributed to the duo's inexhaustible eye for detail and perfect finish. The garments are always 100% natural featuring silk chiffon, jersey, tuille, velvet, crepe, leather and cashmere. With an almost romantic, feminine feel, this collection will appeal to the woman who looks for a couture accent in her day and evening wear, appreciating the uniqueness of every garment she wears.

From their F/W 07.08 Collection
"Identity Remained"

The theme? It's about when you die.
It's about what you chose to become and the preservation of that identity.
In death most people are buried or cremated and their bodies decay until nothing of the human form is left.... This collection takes influence from these dead corpses and ponders the idea of preserving your identity for the world to see, as well as referencing the usual decaying process.

S/S 07 Collection
"Mah-jong"
...It is a war game of mah-jong. The rebellion had been lost. The remaining notes had been won and the last tiles dissolved to dust. Rolls of money played on her mind as the four players dispersed. Admist her the hazy cloud formed, encompassing all within its predatory flight. She was overthrown by the swarms hunger. Its thread like wings had spun her web Her human form diminished to cast a lace like shadow

Graduate Work by just Stephanie Aman
Like Nowhere Else

amanstephanie120a30diw4.jpg

I often work with free machine embroidery within fashion. My graduate collection is inspired by armour and heraldry. I like designing with light weight fabrics such as silk chiffons along with leathers and knit; my ideal is to achieve an etherial quality combined with a strong, tougher feel which is seen either through the textiles or garment silhouette.
