ModernLove7:i think Gia looks more like Michelle Ferrara.. Amanda can do more in the fashon business than Gia. Because people remeber some celebrities in the way they die
cause probably otherwise they wouldn't prevaled as famous as they remain
Just a little recap: Gia entered the fashion world in early 1978 and became the muse of von Wangenheim, Blanch, Watson, Elgort and Scavullo. She was THE most sought after model of 1978, 79 and 1980 - all categories. I don't really think that Amanda can compete with that. I mean, I love Amanda's work, she's amazing, but she doesn't have and she never had the whole fashion world fawning over her - and she's been in the biz for at least 4 years. Recently, only Karolina Kurkova had and Daria has the kind of rep that can compare to Gia's back in the day.

On the contrary - I think that all the models of the late 70s have been ignored in a terrible way since 1985, basically because of fashion's clean cut away from anything that had to do with AIDS and disease. The health craze started in about 1984 and disco, decadence and heroin/powerful depressants were considered SOOOO lame. I think now is payback time - whenever you try to suppress something it comes again to the power of 10.

simple as this.. Gia was so big cause she was the only "rebel" brunette at the time, that was openly lesbian.. now there are a few more ;)
