Amber Heard

Hefner is committed that this show of hers is for real...I wonder with all of his power, which is substantial, they might move it to a better time slot (which I think is half the problem) or move it to one of NBCs cable channels if it doesn't take off...I would hate to not see her every week!! :flower:

Really it was only a matter of time...it wasn't meant for ABC or NBC or whatever channel it was on...

I actually liked that show.

"The Playboy Club" Cancelled After Three Episodes
Posted by Ed Carrasco on October 5, 2011 8:35 AM

“The Playboy Club” has been cancelled by NBC after only airing three episodes, according to the Huffington Post.

Monday’s episode of the 1960s-era drama only drew 3.5 million viewers, prompting the network to pull the program. It is the first cancellation of the new TV season.

“The Playboy Club” was hurt by strong competition from CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0” and ABC’s “Castle.” In addition, Entertainment Weekly reported that the program was controversial from the beginning with groups such as the Parents Television Council, which cheered the cancellation.

“Bringing The Playboy Club to broadcast television was a poor programming decision from the start. We’re pleased that NBC will no longer be airing a program so inherently linked to a p*rn*gr*ph*c brand that denigrates and sexualizes women … we hope other broadcasters heed the important lessons of this programming debacle,” the PTC said in a statement.

The show will be replaced by the new crime procedural “Prime Suspect” for the next three weeks until Brian Williams’ new prime-time newsmagazine “Rock Center” makes its debut on Oct. 31, the Huffington Post reports.

MSNBC reported that Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is disappointed with the show’s cancellation and made his feelings known on Twitter.

“I’m sorry NBC’s ‘The Playboy Club’ didn’t find it’s audience. It should have been on cable, aimed at a more adult audience,” Hugh Tweeted on Tuesday night as reported by MSNBC.

I thought the story was quite interesting and promising plus the cast was great! amber suits this whole look so well

I didn't even know it aired on Mondays! I just watched it On Demand from my cable provider
they should have been given either more promotion or a better time slot

or like many of us have already mentioned....a better network!

The 15th annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by Starz Entertainment, will honor Academy Award nominee Carey Mulligan with its 2011 Hollywood Supporting Actress Award. Mulligan is being recognized for her performance as an emotionally disturbed young woman who moves in with her sex-addicted brother in Shame, as well as for her portrayal of a young mother in need of protection in Drive. Additionally, Bérénice Bejo (The Artist), Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Elle Fanning (Super 8), Amber Heard (The Rum Diary), Andrea Riseborough (W.E), Shailene Woodley (The Descendants), and Anton Yelchin (Like Crazy) will be the recipients of this year's Hollywood Spotlight Award, which recognizes young up-and-comers for breakthrough performances. All of the aforementioned honorees will collect their statuettes at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton on Oct. 24, 2011.

I think i like her hair a bit darker. She's pretty either way, but me personally, I like it when it's a bit less in your face blond

I'm with you...I thought her PB Club honey hair would be her best look ever! B)

Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise. The Rum Diary is round the corner, so hopefully the reviews will be great and Amber will finally be a star.

Actress Amber Heard arrives at "The Rum Diary" premiere presented by Film Independent at LACMA held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on October 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

She looks so much better with less makeup. Most people do. :p I mean, this is probably the best her makeup has ever looked!

Lolasvelt I agree the cancellation of the PB may be a blessing in disguise. Hope she gets more film work.

She looks amazing at the Rum Diary premiere, WOW, and yes her make up is just the best here.

^ She is simply breathtaking!! I miss The Playboy Club- Amber was beyond beautiful as a Bunny; given a chance that could have developed into a decent show (I wonder how great the ratings are for whatever garbage they put in it's place!)...Someone said the remaining episodes (which are finished already) would be available online but I can't find them anywhere... :(

She looks sick...everything is perfect. She has a good glam team working for her despite being relatively low on the food chain.

I know! I saw pics of Scarlett Johansson recently and Amber looks more beautiful than she does, which is certainly a high standard! And I won't be at all surprised if she starts becoming a breakout star in the next few months! :flower:
