American Idol

who do you all think will go?...i think it should be carly, actually :ermm:

David A - i thought it was a pleasant performance bordering on amateurish. i prefer is earlier performances before this :ermm:

Carly - flat performance. i didn't feel anything. she relies too much on her strong voice. i don't like the fact that she looks kicka** but it doesn't transcend to her performances and stage presence. i like Carly but she's not stepping up to the occassion :(

Syesha - i really don't feel anything whenever she performs. she has a good strong voice but she always seem detached from her songs and to her audience. the song choice was questionable. i think she can tackle any Mariah song but she didn't use the opportunity

Brooke - it's pretty obvious that i ADORE Brooke. i think she's really genuine and a real star. i really can see her doing well post-AI. when i read that they'll do a Mariah, i immediately knew she'd do Hero because that's the only Mariah song that's very Brooke-esque in my books (that or Butterfly). however, i found her performance mediocre compared to her past performances. i think it's mainly because she tends to lose her concentration and confidence in the middle of her songs, realizes it and comes back which kindda worries me. i really hope she stays! C'mon America! vote for someone who's worth it! :p^_^

Kristy Lee - i was really surprised by her performance. there was something about her performance tonight that made me think twice and thought that she was an actual star. had she done this kind of performance, she wouldn't have been one of the least liked :ninja:

David C - i actually didn't like his voice on some parts of the song. i thought it was a bit pitchy on some points but i like the fact that he did a bold interesting move on making Mariah's song his own. i have to say that he's really a total performer and will definitely be successful after the show:D

Jason - i love everything about his performance. the arrangement, his voice, the beach feel into it. he made it his own. i think it's his best performance so far

i think it's either Carly or Syesha who will go (but i think Brooke would be on the bottom 3  -that's just how it works with these kinds of things :judge: )

IL...i completely agree with almost everything you said :o

and i agree with your predictions for the bottom 3....i think that's how it'll go....and i'm just going to HOPE and PRAY that my girl brooke is safe..

David Cook and Jason Castro are sooo dreamy.

The boys were killin' it last night. I forgot to vote for Syesha, I hope she stays; she's soo good! Kristy or Brooke needs to GTFO.

Last night they did a major overhault of Kristy looks wise. It looks like they brightened up her color, did a middle part, and false lashes to really glam her up and it worked. She did look great. I didn't see her perform, I only tuned in at the end when David Cook and Jason Castro performed.

ETA: Okay, I've seen it all now so here are my thoughts:

Syesha - was surprisingly good! I've always been annoyed by her personality but it's clear she has strong vocal ability. This was the best I've ever seen her. I actually think it was one of the best performances of the night. I agree she's most suited to Broadway though.

David A. - okay it's not that I don't think he has talent, he clearly does, but the extent of praise towards him I think is too much. I really hate the tshirts they always put him in. Anyway i've already made my thoughts clear on him

David Cook - ah so lovely. Normally I don't like him again because of his personality. At the auditions he was all chill and now he does come across as pompous but whatever this was one of my favorite songs on AI last night. I think the people who have a musical background are the ones who are succeeding now. Previously seasons it used to be all about vocal might but, and I think Blake set the precedent for this, people are re-arranging songs, and doing different things with them because they have the knowledge of how to do that so I think that makes things interesting.

Carly seem to disappear from other contestants. Maybe because of her dark clothes.

david cook...i thought he was really pitchy actually, and the key was too low for him....but he builds a song up better than anyone else in the comp...he has such a good understanding of the light and shade of a performance, and he is so original....i was really surprised at his tears...anyway, he is so professional and i agree with randy that he's the whole package...he doesnt just sing, he gives a complete performance

He cried because his brother who has brain cancer and dying was in the audience

that is terrible news...my heart goes out to them...:(

between that and brooke missing her own sister's wedding this competition this season is a great example of what a personal sacrifice you have to make to be successful in this business....i cant help but think that a certain point {e.g. your brother being seriously ill}, the sacrifice might just be a bit too much....i understand that 'show must go on' mentality....i just dont know how much i respect a business and a competition sometimes that demands you get up, grit your teeth, smile and sing your heart out when you have loved ones in situations that deserve your presence...

anyway...i'm glad his brother could be there to hear him sing...i'm sure it meant a lot to them both

IncurableLunatic - you summed it up wonderfully!
I don't think that Kristy is bad - but I think she'll definately be in the bottom tonight. Which I'd be fine with, because I don't care for her too much

Am I the only one here who can't stand Brooke White?

Cook.Castro.Mercado. <---- My dream top three.
Archuleta.Cook.Smythson. <----- More than likely, the actual top three.

well he said tonight that there was just a lot of stuff going on this week (im assuming his brothers attendance at the show and such) and getting the praise was just kind of what it took to bring the tears :flower:

So, who went out? I don't know if I want to watch, but since no one posted the results, I have to...

i'll post it in white ----> kristy lee cook

i was actually sad to see this person go, more because you can see clearly the friendships they have all formed with one another, and how hard they work....how much each of them really want to be there....but i think at this point they'll all go on to have careers, so i guess that makes it a bit easier

I was like "Please not Brooke" :p I was so satisfied when Ryan announced Brooke is safe.
