AMY WINEHOUSE only lasted a month in Blighty before being lured back to St Lucia.

The songbird hopped on a plane from Gatwick yesterday morning, returning to the Caribbean island where she spent 71 days over Christmas.
But it’s not going to be all play.
She begins studio sessions next week with producer SALAAM REMI, who masterminded her debut album Frank.
And don’t expect her in the UK any time soon — the Back To Black singer told pals she wants to find a second home in St Lucia.

Amy Winehouse was in high spirits when we spotted her in St.Lucia yesterday. The star spent the day riding around on horses on an idyllic beach, then she spent the rest of her afternoon sunbathing. And it seems as though Amy is so fond of St.Lucia that she’s now planning to buy herself a second home there. Apparently the Back To Black singer is eager to purchase a $5 million house she has her eye on, but first of all she has to convince her parents - as they’re in control of her finances. But according to a source, Amy’s dad Mitch is not too keen on the idea:
"Amy has instructed lawyers to draw up contracts with the developers and everything is set for her to buy it” said the source.
"But a few days ago Mitch stepped in and said he wasn't sure. He's worried about the possible distractions of drugs and partying on the island. But Amy says it's better for her to be out there than in London. She has managed to get off hard drugs in St Lucia and is living a much healthier lifestyle."
But island life obviously suits Amy, as she’s just announced that she’s working on new music there, and plans to preview some of her new tracks as early as next month. We can’t wait…

Horsing around: Amy Winehouse shows off her equestrian skills in St Lucia

Amy Winehouse has been showing off her horsemanship while on holiday in St Lucia.
Amy was riding on the beach with unidentified friends and family.
The singer showed off her flexibility by pulling her legs up underneath her and leaning off the side of the brown mare she was on.

Wearing just a pair of blue shorts and a skimpy white sports bra-top, Amy showed off her slim figure and naturally curly hair as she guided the horse along.
Amy recently returned to St Lucia after spending two months on the island at the beginning of the year.
She is expected to record her latest album there, far away from the busy, paparazzi-filled atmosphere of London.

The flexible singer appears to be very comfortable with riding, lifting her leg up rather than clinging on tight

This news comes in the wake of reports that her record company were unhappy with the reggae influence on her new tunes.
However, Amy is said to be looking to put down roots on the island.
She is reportedly in the process of viewing properties there.

Amy Winehouse looked relaxed as she wandered arm-in-arm with NEVILLE on her return to the paradise island.
The skinny star snuggled into his beefy body for plenty of hugs during their beach stroll before stripping off to soak up some rays on a sun lounger.
Amy, who is soon to be divorced from jailbird husbandBLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL, has grown fond of St Lucia after spending two months there recovering from her drug addiction and writing new material for her new album at the start of the year.

On Monday Amy Winehouse enjoyed a short walk along the beach with her burly bodyguard before spending the rest of the afternoon riding horses along the golden sands in St. Lucia.Now while that all sounds very nicey nice we’ve been hearing reports that Amy’s still managing to get herself in trouble with the islands locals who don't approve of her recent antics.
Apparently officials told the troubled singer she couldn’t sunbathe topless as she’s staying in a family-friendly resort and they didn't think its appropriate. But rather then take the advice on the chin Amy being Amy decided to streak half naked through the hotel, waving her arms and babbling nonsense, leaving fellow guests stunned.
One onlooker remarked:
“She was talking to herself as she ran and flailing her arms around but we couldn't tell what she was saying - it didn't make a bit of sense.”
But that’s why we love her right?

Enjoyed the repeat showing on BBC last night of her Porchester Hall performance from 2007, on after the "Queens of British Pop" series, which she was part of. It had her father talking about her career, as well as old clips from Amy's interviews from as far back as 2004.
