Androgyny In Fashion And Models

Ok, this Thread begin in 2005, is 2009 and are a lot of people talking about androgyny.
I belived soon we can talk about androgyny as a "clasic" not a "trend".

Thinking in all the water run in the river from Marlene Dietritch and George Sand to our days I can say "Androgyny is here, and dont go"

Some of my favorite Andro photos.

I love androgyny and Catherine Deneuve so here are some photos of both...and I had to attach the last photo of my favorite sartoraliste from the Sartorialist...her style leaves me breathless everytime.

I think androgyny is both classic and an off-and-on trend. You can see male fashion is moving slightly away from the slimanesque androgyneous man to a slightly more alpha male. At the same time there is a bit more "power dressing" for women, so it's clearly a continous element in fashion. Not shure if you can call it a "classic" yet though

I've always thought that Rick Owens and Rad Hourani were very modern in their approaches to non gender-specific clothing. Rick Owens blurs the lines between masculine and feminine by concealing or de-emphasizing feminine characteristics such as hair, breasts, legs, etc.

wow! i think she really suits the androgyn, short, rebellious hair  and that boy in #889 looks VERY feminine indeed :D especially with these glasses...

Androgyny is so sexy to me. I can't help myself when I see a boy that plays along the line of masculine and feminine. I find the Asian girl incredibly sexy.

Freddy Mercury worked it well in the earlier years of his career. Man was brilliant.

Prince is also quite good when it comes to it as well.

Pete Burns too.

I would never do androgyny. Just not my style. I wouldn't be able to pull it off anyway, since I have a very feminine shape(hourglass) and other feminine features.
