We discussed her at length in her thread last season, I think. To me, she's no better than the Subkoffs, Rzepskis, and As Fours of the world. It's so easy to be anti- something. Anti-fashion, anti-glamour, anti-establishment. But then where do you go from there?
It's so easy to say 'ok, I'm gonna look at the world and take the most unflattering, ugly sh*t and send it down a runway. Then I'm gonna develop a theory around it and roll my eyes at those that don't get it--i.e., refuse to accept my garbage as politically-charged, avant-garde fashion'. Well I'm sorry but I'm not afraid to call this girl out on her bullsh*t. This is the kind of stuff most designers get out of their systems in art/design school. I don't see why she wastes our time or hers. If she wants to make a statement about feminism, money-culture, luxury, or the fashion system, that's fine. But she can do that in a gallery and not in a way that stakes her claim as a real designer. That she is not.
Apologies to Scott and space. I know you two like her but I really just don't see it.
