Nassau, Bahamas (AHN) - It has now been confirmed that Anna Nicole Smith was utterly "distraught" by the death of her 20-year old son and had to be heavily sedated as a result.
Her Bahamian attorney, Michael Scott, reveals that she also suffered some memory loss of what happened to her son, Daniel.
Scott said that both Anna Nicole and her attorney, Howard K. Stern, did everything they could to try and revive Daniel even after staff members at the Doctors Hospital proclaimed Anna Nicole's "pride and joy" was dead.
Stern reveals that it was necessary to sedate the former Playboy Playmate so she could be checked out of the hospital.
Stern read from a statement, "Anna Nicole was so distraught at the loss of Daniel that she refused to leave his side and it was necessary to sedate her in order to check her out of the hospital"..."The devastation and grief over Daniel's sudden death coupled with the sedation has been so extreme that Anna Nicole experienced memory loss of the event."
Daniel Smith died on Sunday, three days after his baby sister was born.
Authorities at first said he had died from natural causes but after further examination said his death was "suspicious." Results of a toxicology report may be revealed on Friday.
Scott said that the former model remains in seclusion in the Bahamas with friends and family to console her during this difficult time.
Anna Nicole has named her daughter Hannah.
