Anna Sui F/W 14.15 New York

extremely bored watching this..i guess her aesthetic is just not my thing

I see that Anna Sui reached to her roots, it's so easy to find in this collection spirit of asian :-)

There are always some nice boho pieces in her collections, but to me this one is not coherent. It doesn't feel as united as some of her previous work.

I agree about there not be a united vision in this collection, but I still enjoy it, particularly the first half of the show. I feel as if she is at her strongest when she draws influence from her Chinese heritage, rather than the boho/hippie look that I personally dislike.

^ Very true, it's nice to see her source her roots for her fashion; I like how she takes traditions from both Chinese and American cultures and mixes them here - so a silk Chinoiserie print but cut in a classic American sweatpant. Or Chinese accessories shown with American boho looks, and vice versa. It's a very Global statement and it works. It would've been nice to see the whole collection playing with these themes.
