ahh! that is too cool! Even though am not tea lady am enjoying a new take on a classic look. I never thought of something like that. I love when my fashion horizons are broadened. great work craig!
Thanks Tealady and mehq ( special bag coming soon ), I have sent my designs to some handbag companies as well as designers, as many as I could email to. I'm just going to wait and see what they think, one of them may like my ideas and give me a shot. I am up against some pretty stiff competition what with the talent emerging from the art colleges and fashion colleges, but I will remain resolute on this matter, if I need extra college tuition, maybe I could study part time. I would love to be instrumental in the fantastic bags of tomorrow, and I know they will be utterly gorgeous. Bags just keep getting more cool.
I can't answer your specific question but I suggest you get some help from a marketing specialist. Any of those in the house? I was going to suggest that you brush up on copyright law and keep track of what designs you send where. You're toooooo good!
I'm not surprised you have interest in your bags. Just let me know when they go in to production- may I pretty please have the first bleecker? I'm so very greedy!
I'm gradually getting responses from some of the companies I sent bag designs to. Most of them are giving me an address to send my CV and designs to. I tried a German brand called Picard, they said my work was exciting but they already have a set of designers. It's a start, maybe I'll get more replies today, I sent off to an awful lot of places. Thank you for all your helpful advice!
Meanwhile I better keep some of my designs to myself, I know what some of these companies are like! I guess it would be quite flattering to suddenly see one of my bags in Harrods or somewhere. At least I have all the originals.
I'm very new to this, I don't have particularly good business acumen, being more interested in the creative side. maybe I should team up with someone who's clued up with business! Where's my Tamara Mellon!!
aww thanks craig! and good luck! As long as you keep pushing your bound to be successful especially because you have such a unique and great product! Wishing you continued success
Mehq, I'll design you a bag this week! I need to get some more ideas down in my portfolio...had a phone call from a representative at Karen Millen. She wants me to visit their design department pretty soon, I shall have to take all my Fashion Spot bags!
I'm soooo excited
It's getting the time off work to go there...oh I could throw a sickie!! I don't like doing that, though. I once threw a sickie and pretended I was ill with flu, it was very difficult to be authentic, I was slap bang in the middle of Camden Town, London, going for an interview. I just about got away with it!!
Good for you! I knew someone would want your designs. As for taking the time off, if you have vacation, just ask for the day off. If they ask why, just say it's a special day for you. And it is!! Please, keep us posted!
I wish I could work for LV, shajopri, working with Marc Jacobs would be brilliant! Thanks guys! Here's a set of lime green/grey bags inspired by Astrid.
