Have you noticed that whenever a celebrity gets a nose job these days, they blame it on a "deviated septum" and difficulty breathing? Karina from Dancing with the Stars claimed that this was why she got a nose job about two weeks ago. I think Barry Manilow used it as an excuse (and maybe even pioneered this trend) a few years ago. This reminds me of an old episode of Who's The Boss? when someone told Tony Danza he had a big nose, and he defended himself by saying, "It's a deviated septum!" The only star who had a nose job claiming that it was for medical reasons who I believe is Cameron Diaz. I mean, she did break her nose like ten times.

The latest star with a "deviated septum" is.....

“Deviated Septum”

Ashley Tisdale got a nose job!
The High School Musical actress says she was having trouble breathing and didn’t get the procedure done for cosmetic reasons.
Uh huh!
“Growing up I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing,” The Tiz tells People. “The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose.”
Of the just done procedure, she says: “I’m not feeling great today. It’s uncomfortable and I hope this is the only time I ever have to go through something like this. I was completely scared. I wasn’t looking forward to the surgery at all. I actually had trouble sleeping for a week before.”
Emphasizing one more time that she didn’t get her nose job because she was unhappy with the way it looked, Ashley says, “I didn’t do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health. I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose. I want my fans to know the truth. I’m not someone who is going to act like I had nothing done. I just want to be honest because my fans are everything to me.”
We hope you get well soon Ash!
High School Musical 3 begins filming around March.

If I were an actress, getting a nose job (which I would), I'd just be real about it- guess what, I have a big schnoze, even bigger insecurities, and a lot of money; why wouldn't I get a nose job?

(Though Tis doesn' really have a big nose, but whatever...)

^ I would too! In fact, I think I would actually use the words "big schnozz".

the deviate septum thing makes me crack up every time. you can easily get it fixed without getting a nosejob, but most people just use it as an excuse (not just celebrities). and deviated septums are rarely bad enough to even warrant surgery.

^ Now that I think about it, a girl who I went to high school with had a nose job the summer going into 10th grade. Her old nose was very large and bumpy, but she came back with a very pretty tiny button nosein September and told everyone it was for medical reasons. Only when we were seniors did she admit it was her 16th birthday present!

My apologies in advance to anyone who actually does have a deviated septum. :flower:

why didn't ashlee simpson just use that excuse? it would have been better than to not comment about something so obvious.

Ashley...I have no opinion about her. Nothing to say about this story.

-_-

so , Ashlee S, Jennifer Aniston and now Ashley ... it amazes me how many people out there have this problem. I sometimes can't breath because got stuffy nose, do you think i have a deviated septum???

I guess the word 'nose job' is too low class for them to say. :innocent:

I can promise you all that, when I become a successfull actress and have a nose job, I will release the following statement:

"Yep, I had a nose job. I've hated my nose since elementary school thanks to low self esteem and mean children. It happens."

If only they were that honest...

My guess is that some tabloid got a pic of her or got the story about her visiting a clinic and she tried to cut the story off by manufacturing this deviated septum issue. You know...right before shooting starts on High School Musical 3...

Ashley Tisdale bugs me like nothing else.

And Karina Smirnoff looks like a totally different person with her new nose. I kinda thought she looked hot before

Karina looks way better before. The After nose makes her look 20yrs older :yuk:

I totally agree with KhaoticKharma on this.

Nose jobs, imo anyway, are one of the few plastic surgery procedures that are entirely shame free. Why would you be ashamed? If you have a less than flattering nose, you get it fixed. People will definitley notice, so just admit to it before the rumors fly.

i have a deviated septum and i'm dealing just fine with it! the doctor said i should do a surgery but i refused!! i'm still alive

^

I feel like you just stood up at a support group meeting and gave us a massive confession: "My name is lonn3k3, and I have a deviated septum."

You're our little trooper! :flower:

haha omg your comment was so funny & sweet:lol::lol::blush:! now that i read what i wrote...you are sooo right that's exactly how i made it sound!! thanks for cheering me up:lol:

hrm...well my BF has a DS and he had surgery, and it didn't do a damn thing. it really can be something that affects someone a lot, making it hard to breathe, not saying that was this girls case, but it is a common medical condition....
