im not familliar with la prairie ... how is it?

noo they haven't discontinued the no age line by dior. i saw it yesterday at the mall

 i saw it 2 years ago in Boots & it was half priced out of the dior counter??

I can't really vouch for it's success since I'm preventing eye wrinkles rather than trying to get rid of them.

Ooo, I've been thinking about doing that too. I'm still young but I was wondering whether I should get an early start on wrinkle prevention...have you heard any info about the best thing to do for wrinkle prevention?

Wear sunglasses when its sunny so you don't squint. :-)

And using anti-aging/anti-wrinkle eye cream when you DON'T have them yet.

and sunscreen too! like spf 50- I mean if you're going to bother to put some on, you ,might as well make it 50 as opposed to 15 - plus it works

what im trying to do is to prevent eye wrinkles & smooth out the ones i already have ... any suggestions other then the 3 i've posted?

I was looking over that Paula's Choice Website where she reviews different skin products and provides information about skin care.

She says that " Although the eye area does tend to be more prone to allergic or sensitizing reactions and often shows wrinkles before other areas of the face, it turns out that product formulations for eye creams don't differ from those for face products. There is no evidence, research, or documentation validating the claim that eye creams have special formulations setting them apart from other facial moisturizers. It only takes a quick look at the ingredient labels of any moisturizer or eye moisturizer to see that they don't differ except for the price and the tiny containers the eye creams come in. Eye creams are a whim of the cosmetics industry designed to evoke the sale of two products when only one is needed."

Is this true or have people experienced really positive results from eye creams?

sunscreen and avoid the sun as much as you can (but still have fun). wear a hat, too.

i dont think what you have are wrinkes. even babies have skin folds around the eye that look like wrinkles but they arent, there more like dimples.

Eye cream

I'm only 16, but I have wrinkles under my eyes! They're natural, but very annoying and not too attractive, soo I was wondering if there are any eye creams or anything that could soften the skin around the eye and reduce the look of wrinkles!! Thankss:flower:

Try clinique all about eyes or repairwear.
Anything that has spf is good too!

And don´t think you are too young to use it!

^_^ I'm searching a good eye cream too. I'm using Kiehl's Creamy eye treat with Avocado, but I don't see a big difference. I don't have big problem of wrinkles or rings under eyes but I think is good to precede.

Need Help with EYE Cream

hi,

Im 24 and never really used Eye cream- but have been told that is good to start using it.

Can anyone give me some advice?
When I'm tired my eye area really shows it and I easily get light dark circles.
So im looking for something to prevent signs of aging and maybe give more radiance to that area.

I have normal skin.

Price range is flexible, I dont care how much I spend as long as I see results.

Thank you much:wink:

I understand that. I'm 20 and already need eye cream.

The one I use is a miracle in a tube. I love it. It's Aveda Tourmalene Charged Eye Gel. I have nothing but praise for it.

I'm only 16:blush: but I can't stand the little wrinkles under my eyes and I've heard the earlier you start using it the better. I don't know if it's too too early yet, but I might try that Aveda cream :flower: I can't stand wrinkles! I naturally have them on my forehead, right around my eye's..shaping downwards. It always makes me have this funny expression..I wish there was some cream to help big wrinkles like that!

my sister had some dry skin on side of her eyes like wrinkles and she used my mom's lancome moisturizer over night thing and within days it was completely gone. those stuff work like magic.

Great thread! I'm having the same problem. Any more tips/product recommendations would be appreciated :flower:

I'm 22 and I recently started to use an eye cream. I have very fair skin so keeping it out of the sun and protecting it has been a concern and priority for me recently.

I am currently using Peter Thomas Roth's Power C Eye Complex. It's nice. It's thick and I swear it brightens my eyes up. It's very moisturizing and my dark circles have really demished. I hope it does something to prevent wrinkles in the future.

to be honest...........putting creams directly around the eyes does more bad than good.....apart from on exceptionally cold days

everytime you apply a cream around your eye.........some of the cream is not properly absorbed.....as the skin around the eye is 1/6 of the thickness of the rest of the face........so effectively you are leaving deposits around the eye.....which are almost impossible to shift.

over time this builds up making your eye extremely puffy and only removable through surgery. this is why you see old ladies who have used eye creams all their life with huge puffy under eye patches

you are better off wearing sunglasses during the day........sunscreens should be applied only as high as the top of the cheekbones.

and on cold days...........only dab a touch of vaseline on the under and upper eye lids.

as for permanent wrinkles.......the best thing you can do is drink a lot of water which will arteficially plump your skin. and secondly consider botox

I know you wrote this 4 years ago but it really horrified me
so I went on and asked people at makeupalley and here is what they said:

"Eye puffiness is not caused by any product, either heavy or light. (rop)
Eye puffiness is caused by edema (fluid build up). It can have many causes, but two reasons are poor lymphatic circulation and increased capillary permeability. The best way to reduce eye puffiness is to use an anti-edema product such as cornflower water, which is a natural decongestant. Products containing Tetrapeptide-5 are also good. I use a serum that contains that ingredient to reduces puffiness and dark circles. It takes a few weeks initially for the product to work, but with regular use, my problem has not returned".

"mentioned previously, most likely increased capillary permeability caused by thinning of the skin as we age. However, people who bake themselves in the sun will end up with the problem sooner rather than later. (That's why I have it - no one told me when I ws 18 that it is bad to lay on a beach all day!) People who do not have those circulatory/permeability problems are not likely to develop a puffiness problem from using regular eye creams. Rather, genetics, age and UV exposure are the main culprits".

"wrong! only if the cream is too fat or heavy"

"I don't think that is what causes bags. And Vasaline doesn't do anything but temporarily plumps r/o
the area by keeping in moisture"

I started using the Kiel's creamy avocado eye cream a couple of years ago and have seen a huge difference in my eye skin. The stuff is thick... and stays put. I tend to put it on and then blot a little off before I put on my mineral makeup. It really keeps your undereye/around-eye skin hydrated all day. If your issue is combating dryness while preventing wrinkles - this should do it.
