I love flipping my hair out, but it never stays. No matter what I do, my hair can stay curled. I've tried putting gel in it when it's wet and then curling it when it's dried and caking on the hairspray. Or just caking on the hairspray.

-sigh-

If you guys have this problem and know how to deal with it, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Maybe your hair is just naturally too thick and so too heavy to stay?

I have the same sort of problem when I curl my hair...tis very annoying!

Maybe it´s teh conditioner that is making the hair too soft.

Those, unfortunatly, could all be problems . . cuz I deep condition my hair A LOT since I straighten it all the time. And my hair is pretty thick.

-sigh-

Thank you though. <3 Maybe I can try to find a lighter product or something.

Since you are saying that you straighten your hair, one more question, do you straighten it before flicking it out?
Because if you are doing this, it´s possible that it doesn´t flick because it was straightened before. In this case, you should straighten it with a roll brush and hairdrier and in the end you can flick it out, doing the rolling brush motion, that way you´ll have straight hair but with the ends rolled out.

Not sure if i have really expressed myself the right way...hope it makes sense. ^_^

heres an old trick back from jr. high. Hair spray- on the ends of your hair (each individual peice) and then use the iron on top of that (it will sizzle) then comb through with your fingers.

easiest thing for me, is to use a setting spray or lotion- i use one by L'oreal Professional...I think its called 'The Set'.

Also - you may have to forgoe the flip until your hair is 2 days old (like the day AFTER you wash it) - the curling iron will take better to hair that isn't uber clean.

^_^

My hair doesnt like staying in 'curl styles' etc either, but it works when i use my ceramic straighteners to flick the ends out and then i just hairspray the ends, that usually works for me :flower:

you could also try paul mitchell's spray wax... my hair is really fine and never wants to stay curled. but when i use the wax, it's so lighweight that my hair will stay curled. i'm sure other company's spray wax will also do the trick, i've just tried paul mitchell's and i like it b/c it's areosol and i get even coverage..
