I liked the fw collection and I like this one too. Not so much the prints on the fourth dress in the last post.

some really nice pieces here thanks droogist. I don't think the collection looks as strong as the winter one but that may just be because spring, I think, is harder to make such a statement with. I like the tie belt things.....and some of the coats.

btw I called aquascutum about the A/W coat I liked and its £1400. So qite a high price point - too high I'd say for a label not quite in its fashion stride yet.

^ Definitely not cheap. But the quality is supposedly at a premium...were you able to see any of it in person?

i agree helena, aquascutum really needs to prove itself and just overcharging for something doesn't do anything. I know they really compete with burberry though so that might explain it. I always used to pass their flagship store on my way to work, it's nice. and right by Burberry as well.

There are very few faults with this collection and the menswear is superb

no droogist....as you know ....i am in the ar8e end of nowhere so I never get to see anything in person :(. I imagine the quality will be good though. Going to gay pareee this w/e so I wonder if its stocked anywhere there (au bon marche is the only place i can see it in....)

Meg - i agree with you.....

Oh, I don't know what to say except that this was one of the most anticipated shows of the season. :woot:

I thought the opening look made a good transition from their (fantastic) fall collection. I would have loved them to see elaborate on that. There were a few misses, no?

its not love at first sight like it was with their current A/W collection... i do think the menswear is quite nice though

I think it's alright, i didn't really get the hype befor, and even less now....

Well, they have proved themselves in the coat market, haven't they? I'm not British so don't know much about it, but I do know they go back a ways ...

I liked this collection. I think they did a nice job distinguishing themselves, doing something different from what others have shown so far. I liked the crinkled cottons, and I think this color scheme will be a nice antidote to the dusty colors for those who can't or won't do them ...

I also disagree with style.com's review that said that women don't care that these clothes are beautifully finished on the inside.

I care!!! When I pay big bucks for something, I want it to last, and that kind of quality/attention to detail is what makes it happen. Just because we are sometimes "forced" to accept shoddy quality, doesn't mean we don't want better ... I'm particularly pleased with that aspect of the company's philosophy. And just wish they were doing something that appealed to me personally :flower:

slightly off topic but the coat I mentioned above ....well I just saw it on sale at the NYC shop Seven which has an online store for cheaper than it is in London but that may be partly because of the weakness of the US$.

I wasn't impressed at first, but I quite like it now :flower: esp. the jackets and coats. :crush:
Thanks for all the pics droogist.

i think the mens stuff is for the most part stronger than the womens. the color combintions/ outfits of the first two outfits on post # 18 are very fresh.

well i'm glad i gave this a chance....
because the beginning was just awful....

but this gets unspeakably better as it goes on....
the menswear is FANTASTIC...
:woot:

i like it overall, actually....
definitely redeemed itself....
the color palette is very 'me'....lots of greys, blues, black and white mixed in together....

I suppose there are some nice pieces...but it doesn't even compare to the winter season.

i like a few of the coats, but in general i'm not really taken with it..it could be that i was SO taken with the last collection, and this isn't living up to it...i'll give it another chance but it's really not doing much for me yet, and that makes me sad!

Some very good outfits, nice styling.... but some coats are just tacky with the ruffly parts..... and some of the colors..... like the pink...... But it's a good collection, though it's not good enough for me......
