Dries Van Noten Mens F/W 06.07 Paris

Umbrellas looks great.B) Any leopard stuff is just forgetabouit.....:yuk:
Wearable pieces here and there, but for me the look very strange and boring... the look.. dont get it?

The patterned suit and pants are just awful.

But on another note...what do you think of the models in shorts, no socks and black dress shoes. For some reason, I've always seen that as sexy. But if I saw someone on the street.....I'd probably laugh out loud.

agree.. those leos' needed some tacky pattern to keep them company it seems
the rest is ok, but nothing special really apart from the use of the best navy around..

very dissapointed Dries season, i hope he does better for womenswear :(

Oh my life, has Dries had a lobotomy?

I like the first navy and white jumper, and the grey/champagne suit below it. But the rest of the collection made my eyes want to run back into my head and not come out until this ordeal was over.

Wow. This is terrible by all standards. If I did not know, I would think it's a Louis Vuitton collection. :o:doh::yuk:

all pics from vogue.fr

 OMG, that is so cold

Has a bit of a Versace twang to it ...

I can just imagine sitting across from someone wearing that sweater and getting vertigo ...

I love reading Miss Read novels (old-fashioned English novels about nothing), and as I was doing so this weekend, noticed that the vicar has a pair of old leopard (I think I've got the animal right) fur gloves. So apparently it's a revival ... I assume this probably means we'll be seeing it in the women's shows too ...

^ Yes... It seems like it's been "decided" that exotic fur is in for next winter. I wonder how many will actually wear it though... You won't see me in leopard anything, unless I suffer from a reactive psychosis from seeing this show...

Good point about the navy, Lena! This presentation is still quite a shock...

Yes...seems animal prints are very popular in alot of these shows.

Conspiracy theory:

 excellent Prince. And yes, this is probably the worst I've seen him doing in a long time... it reminds me of that other collection from a couple of years ago where he went all 'grown up' and 'serious'. Definitely not his forte - and certainly not in combination with leopard prints. I'll have to ask my pals in Antwerp what whent wrong

This is the explanation he gave in the Belgian newspaper De Standaard [www.destandaard.be]:

"Ik heb aan klassieke kledij een jonge toets toegevoegd om ze wat op te spicen '', zei Van Noten. ,,Jonge mensen willen mooie kleren, maar er moet een leuk kantje aan zijn, vandaar de dierenprints. Mijn mannequins waren er gek op."

"I've added a young touch to classic clothes, to 'spice them up' a bit. Young people want nice clothes but they've got to be slightly quirky, hence the animal prints. The models loved it."

Hmmmmmm.... I think I preferred his earlier interpretations of 'quirky'

then dries got totally lost in translation for the 'hip young crowd'
i guess he deserves a 'beak' once in a while,
this is maybe his worst menswear try to date

thanks for the newsbit skeeterbe :flower:

He was paying the models...of course they're going to say they like it.

I don't find this 'young' or 'hip' at all, how many youngsters does he see clad in leapord prints?

I agree....I think Leopard print...and I think like Old South Miami women. I don't really see it as hip and young at all either.

i LOVE leopard!!!....

so i am wondering if the fur is real or faux....:ermm:...
it's outlawed here...
lepoard is considered 'endangered'...

i have always wanted a leopard hat or something...
i love lepoard with camel and black cashmere...
i think the shape of the suits is lovely....
sharp and narow with drainpipe pants...
don't love the leopard 'prints' so much though....
and def NO leopard pants...
but it's nice for a scarf or coat i think...
it does add a touch of 'old world' sophistication...
makes me think of the days of grace kelly...et al...

*and the boys are super sexy...:brows:...

it simply screeched for the Roxy Music reunion that is imminent. But so did the gold snakeskin shoes. And unrepentant glam rockers will run, not walk, to snare the python-print suit

quoted from the last paragraph of the men.style.com review.....

No wonder you like it soft;) he's channeling Bryan Ferry:clap:

and mixed Roxy Music by 2manydjs? I'm curious and scared at the same time:ninja:

so I looked at all of the shots and I am in LOVE with the leopard/ocelot looking fur scarves....(the jacket is faux, so I'm assuming the scarves are as well.....thought it was illegal everywhere).....and I find the faded leopard print raincoat kind of fascinating......I loved the printed suits (when separated) but upon reading they are snakeskin printed I wanted to pass out!!! Of course, I'm loving his use of layering with the cardigans and vests...
